Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Weird Yet Interesting Questions... I got the following in an E-Mail today... no idea how legit it is but I think it's a funny email anyways so enjoy with a pinch of salt! Quote:
Question #1:
If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had eight kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?
Read the next question before looking at the response for the first one...
Question #2:
It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three candidates. Who would you vote for?
Candidate A:
Associates with crooked politicians and consults with an astrologist. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and rinks eight-to-ten martinis a day.
Candiadte B:
He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.
Candidate C:
He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.
Which of these candidates would your choice?
Decide first... no peeking... then scroll down for the response...
Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Chruchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.
And by the way... on your answer to the abortion question... if you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.
Try something new: remember...
Amateurs ... built the ark.
Professionals ... built the Titanic.
And finally, can you imagine working for a company with a little more than 500 employees and the following statistics:- 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
- 7 have been arrested for fraud
- 19 have been accused of writing bad cheques
- 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
- 3 have done time for assault
- 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
- 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
- 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
- 21 are currently defnedants in lawsuits
- 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year
Can you guess which organization this is?
Give up yet?
It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

Sorta makes you think eh? hehe
I enjoyed it at least.

| Re: Weird Yet Interesting Questions... Yes, but as we all know, 73.5% percent of all statistics (+/- 2%) are made up on the spot.

| Re: Weird Yet Interesting Questions... Mmm, word games.
Though, honestly, Hitler was an amazing force of empowerment for Germany - took 'em out of a depression and made them an earth-shaking World Power. A bloody shame what he did with all that possibility.
Oh, and if it counts for anything, I'd have picked Churchill on that one. He seemed normal.

| Re: Weird Yet Interesting Questions... LOL silly Niles, Jackie Chan is Chinese.. har! And thank you for the post OneST8, it does make you think.. and I too also picked Winston Churchill b/c there are no such thing as a perfect person let alone a perfect leader .. maybe L himself could start something new with this world ;-)..
Another reason why I picked Churchill, well.. interesting enough, most alcoholic drinks contain all 13 minerals necessary to sustain human life.. so i don't have a problem with WL drinking in moderation.. brilliant fact eh? lets all drink to that.. LOL | | |

| Re: Weird Yet Interesting Questions... A quarter gallon of whisky every evening is NOT moderation. *Laughs.*
But we already have a WL who drinks, and something like three gallons in the morning, four at lunch, and six in the evening.
His name's Varka.
