Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. | Re: For Pseud... Well....
I dont like kicking someone when they down, so I will just say bad luck Pseudo. Loosing in the quarters to England I never expected and never wished upon you guys. But then again, really.....did the Aussies forget how the game is played? Maybe there was just to much emotion with Gregan and Larkham.
And I guess you can feel slightly better seeing that the All Blacks came out and even played worse than the Aussies.
Guess it is up to the Boks to keep the southern hemisphere banner flying. But after the game today against Fidji I think someone has jinxed the Aussies, All Blacks and the Boks. We better find that dark magic wielder

I guess all we can hope to look forward to is the Rugby League tour coming up. *starts biting his fingernails* Even thats not a certaintity and only a pale comparison for retribution.

| Re: For Pseud... *tries to think of a way to explain this to the Americans*
Imagine if you will the USA basketball Dream Team playing an English invitational squad made up of some blokes thrown together from the Fulham Men's Third Division ... and the Americans lose.
or,
The Red Sox, on a whim, decide to play a friendly baseball game against some elementary school kids ... and lose by one at the bottom of the ninth. Please excuse my suspect baseball terminology, the pitiful sum total of my baseball knowledge comes from watching Major League with Charlie Sheen
or,
The Pittsburgh Steelers, playing against some residents of the local nursing home ... in the Superbowl ........ well, you probably have the idea by now.

| Re: For Pseud... Well DMOE, England won the world cup in 2003. And yes in that instance they did beat Australia with a snap drop from Johnny Wilkenson in extra time.
But here is the sad thing, since that day England has dropped to the sixth spot on the world ranking (I think) with Australia in position two. Now rankings is gained over all games played in the four years between world cups.
So to put it simply, it was one major upset. But that is how world cup competitions work. Any team, including England can win on a day.

Well obviously the English team just slipped down to lull the Aussies into a false sense of security and therefore make their humiliation worse *nods sagely*
