| Just for Fun A forum section to lighten your day with jokes, funny links, and things that make you laugh. Keep them clean and remember this is a family server. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | Re: Episode 2 (Fear of Girls) For all the insanity, that dude was actually a terrific DM. Cutting out the blatant favoritism is the only thing I'd ask.
Heck, for that kind of description and creativity (not to mention the widely-ranging plot), I'd put up with it. And that moron he favors.

| Re: Episode 2 (Fear of Girls) Yeah, I'm not saying that it's the ideal way to play, but he's better than the majority of the DMs I've played with. *Shudder.* One word for most, and it's Lifeless.

| Re: Episode 2 (Fear of Girls) heheh, that is hilarious!
It reminds me one day when I was working in one of my shops and a guy that looks remarkably similar to the DM came in and purchased a plush snake (we sell plush toys). During the sales-affirmation conversation we had at the register I inquired if it was a present for someone, to which the guy responded that he was buying it for himself. His happy admission was in his PnP DnD group his wizard had a snake familiar and he wanted it as a prop for their gaming sessions. At this point I hadn't volunteered that I knew anything about DnD - this was just volunteered information to a complete stranger!
Point is, these people exist.

| Re: Episode 2 (Fear of Girls) Now,props can be fun- mostly because we get to make fun of them. But still, always fun when the GM brings a 6 inch tall "miniature" of a dragon to a game. As a player, you're like, "ahhh, crudmuffins."

| Re: Episode 2 (Fear of Girls) My buddy James used to play a drow rogue very much like she did, always trying to stab party members and steal everything out of turn. I never did make his hands explode, but he did wind up getting beat down and tied up by the party quite a few times. They's tie his hands and feet to a pole and cart him along Ewok-supper style for half the quest, nd he kept breaking out and trying to steal more stuff.
