| Just for Fun A forum section to lighten your day with jokes, funny links, and things that make you laugh. Keep them clean and remember this is a family server. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | War of the clippers... or... Clan of the chrome dome. Well, it all started innocent enough. Today we decided to do some spring cleaning, clean clean clean. Dinner at Gandma's house and back home. Get home and decide well, since we're doing the spring thing today, time for the boys spring haircuts.
I bust out the clippers, and immediately things go quite a bit wrong. The first swipe on my oldest sons head and the spacer that determines thier future hair length pops off and I plow a furrow of my sons curly locks off onto the floor... whoops.
Well, what follows is a typical six year olds reaction to seeing a rather long, pasty-scalp swath on the top and middle of his har, and the only way to get him to feel any better about this wonderfull new buzz job he was getting was to promise him that his brother and myself were going to have the same haircut... and I had to give him my favorite ball cap to wear to school.
Here are the damages - My daughter did not go under the clippers... she's just a ham and wouldn't take "no" for an answer once she saw the camera come out. http://www.kdwebpagedesign.com/stuff/buzz.jpg

| RE: War of the clippers... or... Clan of the chrome dome. This same thing happened to me. My wife was giving my slightly thinning locks a trim with the clippers, and not realising that the little spacer had slipped off, mowed great swathes through my hair. Our son who was five at the time looks at me, then at mum and says; "Why has daddy got a big hole in his hair?". Realising what had happened, my wife stopped, but sadly my head was beyond help. So it was off with the rest, with each of the kids taking a turn to scalp dad. Luckily it was the start of the UKs hottest summer in recorded history, so it was not greatly missed.
Those clippers sure are treacherous.

| RE: War of the clippers... or... Clan of the chrome dome. This isn't really related to the current topic of accidental hairdressing, but I thought I'd make it known that I gave up on haircuts long ago. Here's a pic of me taken from my band site, I think I should be crowned layonara's longest haired male http://www.geocities.com/homoeroticbob/pictures/15.jpg | | |

whats with this insinuation that the hair needs to grow back? take it off! Wear your shiny melon with pride.
To all the fellow chrome domes out there... I salute you!
