Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Digging sand kills 
my thought as after digging sand in the desert fer 20 minutes, took out the first 2 groups of ogres at once, dung the sand, mined the fire stones and happilly sneaked to the next mage killing him while he was surrounded by 8 or so ogres with a few berserkers throwned in here in there...when my magic protection had fizzelled out like 5 minutes before and I noticed it rigth when I first hit that last mage...all this of course being overweight and unable to run away from my inevitable death

Cue an Ogre magi throwing all his magic missles from invisibility behind me. I wouldn't have cared much if I got a DT for that I was too busy giggling for the rest of the night.

| Heh... that was not a pleasant trip to the Grey Peaks. Twice the oil failed to spawn. After the first time, we regroup in Lar, and you get one of *my* famous last words: "We can't let both of them to have died for nothing, we go back!" *splat* yet another of the low level chars dies. I was 2/3 that night for members of the party I was leading who died with a DT. I felt really bad.  | | | | |
