| Just for Fun A forum section to lighten your day with jokes, funny links, and things that make you laugh. Keep them clean and remember this is a family server. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | RE: Star Wars Poll well I both like it and not. Episode IV V VI is classics and really really great. They werent made on a PC but with models, and if you ask me, it looks much better with modes than 3d, you can always see if it is 3d or not in the later movies. Episode I and II was nothing but ordinary movies, not even the plot was out of the ordinary. Though the last episode, episode III succeded in making a worthy end for the saga, it was really a great movie! | | |

| RE: Star Wars Poll IV--Awesome
V--Even better
VI--Ewoks!?! Wha?
I and II--meh
III Much better, but doesn't touch IV and V
By the way, give me Empire's Yoda over CGI Yoda any day. Yoda hopping around in those light-saber duels was just plain silly and should not have been done.

I & II- So horrifically bad that I've boycotted ever paying in any way to see III. George Lucas hasn't done ANYTHING good since Willow. It is my belief that after this point, he was replaced by government officials with a corpse inlaid with animatronics from a Disney ride, with an Atari 2600 operating his central AI functions.

| RE: Star Wars Poll The first three were fine....I enjoyed them and got my geek slaps early to avoid the rush at school.
Then a shadow moved across the franchise....
I have absolutely refused to spend one PENNY on anything tied to the franchise now. And except for ONE actor and one or two supporting actors...you can chuck em in a compactor and flip the switch for all I care.
Too much venom? I hate because I care!
I'll just keep sending checks directly to Hamil and Fischer..they deserve it....(Well not the paltry amount I can send )

| RE: Star Wars Poll Yep, what everyone else has said.
But The new ones could have been good!
you know the problem?
No lovable characters and great lines!!!
All flashy CG . I don't care if this guy dies, I don't even know his name!!!
Give me the finicky Millennium Falcon any day!
And the robots talking??? What the Poopsmith???

| RE: Star Wars Poll The original version of 4, 5 and 6 were works of art with good plot and tolerable dialog.
George has made his money though so I don't think he really cares about the audience's expectations versus what his own expectations were when he first started the whole thing.
Now, if you want to see a shining example of something done right for once in the entertainment industry... Peter Jackson.
