| LSPM Bug Reports Report all bugs related to the Layonara Single Player Module here | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | Single Player modle hasn't kept up with the lore Dark Elves are referred to as "Drow" all throughout the module (just grep for them)
Same thing for Dragons. There are no more "metallic" and "colored/chromatic" dragons anymore.

| Re: Single Player modle hasn't kept up with the lore While thats true, I think they stopped fiddling with that a long time ago, especially since one of the main people working on it, Lalaith Va'lash, has been busy with her school and life a lot lately. So not that I'm any sort of official voice around here, but I don't think any of that is going to get fixed, unless you want to do it yourself

| Re: Single Player modle hasn't kept up with the lore Yes, it's very true that it has not. It was the effort of a group of dedicated people, of whom only one of them is still around in any real capacity at the moment, and he is concentrating on other tasks. It was a very large effort to make originally, and one for which we simply don't have resources to maintain at this point.
Beyond those references, there are undoubtedly mentions of places that have been renamed and such. It's also slightly anachronistic in its time of setting, but that's a lesser issue.

| Re: Single Player modle hasn't kept up with the lore I'm not sure what's been retconned and what has been changed as IC time goes forward but Xora's Vial was definitely set at a particular point in time (which I cannot recall but it is stated in the module).
There are no drow in the Xora's vial plot and I don't think they're mentioned in the dialogue or narration... but there are about a hundred book items that were dropped from the PW module into the SP and scattered about with various background stories. I suspect that some of these refer to drow, since many of them were written well before dark elf was even the preferred name of the race.
That said, I doubt it's 1) worth the effort to re-release (even if the fix were as simple as a find and replace). I'm not sure if the mod is still getting much traffic but chances are it already has recieved a good portion of the downloads it will get, so any fix would reach a marginal population.
Oh and, hey guys *waves*

| Re: Single Player modle hasn't kept up with the lore I checked this post, and said to myself, "Oh, look, Talan posted. Wait, what?" *waves as well*
As for your original post, SM - well, what the others said. As I understand it, the SPM was intended to be a one-off, not to evolve with the world, at any rate.
