Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Default 0818 Version - Camera Cut Scene Text

The cut scene text is a little small and somewhat difficult to read (slowing down the reading speed in what is already a tight scene to complete the reading in time). I would recommend that the text be larger. It would also look better if it was larger I think.

Can we do this? I think the only font size option is the client side "Use high resolution fonts." That or use floaty text which wouldn't work. The other option that might be better is to do it in a convo, you can interact with a convo window just fine during a cutscene, and just have the camera only move a certain distance each node, so it effectively pauses untill you hit continue. Would lose some of its cinematic-y-ness but would make it more readable.

Hmm. I would prefer the text method as the cutscene is really nice. I thought you could do the text thing as I know the newly released 'darkness over dagerford' (or whatever it is) uses larger font. But perhaps not and if not then it is not worth the effort. It was only a suggestion.

Hehe yah I was just playing that last night to get inspired. Most if not all of the cutscenes in that mod that I've seen so far (the beggining mostly) use convo's as the main way of delivering text. I'll watch them again and see if theres something I missed that we can use.

I'm really curious about this "larger font". Is this for certain? Anyone able to take a screenie?

I just went to get a screenshot and noticed something. The opening scene is not a cutscene. It must be a movie or something like that. It has a map with large text under that map, that is what I was talking about above. I then let it go for a bit and later on when one gets in to the actual game there is a cutscene but the text is normal size.

So, it looks like what I was talking about was a movie with different text size in that movie--not a cutscene.

This request can be ignored it seems.
