Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default OW - Kinwit - Poisoning Quest - Jacobson's dead...

So, I don't seem to be able to finish off the quest when I kill Jacobson. My char can't get to the desk, as I posted earlier, so I thought I'd try the kill him first ask questions later approach. Seems that if a player wants to just kill Jacobson and skip everything else there should be some kind of ending to the quest that takes his death into account....even without the proof. Because we all know there's going to be some evil PC's playing out there somewhere :)

Your other post is about the desk below the barn right?

What happens when you bring Jacobson's head to Kinwit?

Yes, the other post was about that desk below the barn.

When I talk to Kinwit he just goes into the conversation like it is incomplete, asks whether I have the proof. I can tell him that Jacobson sold his horse but that's about it.

Here is what he said after I clicked on him after killing Jacobson. I did it twice just to see if I had missed something.

[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:21] Kinwit: Well, what do ye know?
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:26] Damien Oneknife: Jacobson claims he sold your horse.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:26] Kinwit: Of course he sold deh horse! Can't keep stolen goods around for long or he'll get caught, and he knows it, the dirty troll-licker.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:33] Damien Oneknife: Yeah, well, it seems you're just out of luck then. Sorry I couldn't help. *Leave.*

[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:40] Kinwit: Well, what do ye know?
AT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:43] Damien Oneknife: I'm still investigating. What else can you tell me about Jacobson?
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:43] Kinwit: Only dat he's out to RUIN me! And that he's got a ranch north of town.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Dec 26 12:03:50] Damien Oneknife: Meh, you're a real help to your own cause. *Leave.*

The bolded parts are the selections I took because there wasn't anything else, I think there was a third one also...I just never went through it

Actually there is no head item scratch that.

What I'm betting happened is that your henchman "Killed" jacobson (got the final blow) thus you didn't recieve the proper journal entry and etc. Put in a fix for this to give the master the journal entry if a summon/familiar/henchman lands the final blow.

though... looking at the code it still sets the proper plot flag that he's dead regardless of who kills him. Back to digging.

Okay the "give kinwit Jacobson's head" option was only available if you'd learned that Jacobson had sold all the horses and had then killed him.

Added an option for if you just killed him and hadn't learned that he had sold all the horses.

This should be fixed.
