| 4.7 - OW - Pinks house - Convo and Attacking First of all the option to attack the pinks the action itself is in white instead of yellow
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Thu Dec 28 10:19:37] Freram Highhill: Actually, I'm here to rob you blind. *Attack the couple.*
I think this is something I forgot to post before I've seen this in a couple coversations where the attack action is in white instead of yellow, like Rodo's and Hrolf's.
Also when the battle starts after choosing the option, they just stand there, both of them. That is until you attack one then whomever you attack will defend themselves while the other just stands watching... | | |

Ok they are red, but how about them attacking when you choose the option :) Also when the battle starts after choosing the option, they just stand there, both of them. That is until you attack one then whomever you attack will defend themselves while the other just stands watching... | This is fixed in the NEXT version. not the version that the bug was found in.

| Re: 4.7 - OW - Pinks house - Convo and Attacking Acctually i'm taking another look at this attack script.
Just to confirm, they both became hostile to you (showed up red on mouse over) but didn't acctually do anything right? Do you see this same behaviour on other attack options if you don't attack the NPC?

| Re: 4.7 - OW - Pinks house - Convo and Attacking Okay, made an additional improvement to their behaviour when you choose to attack them.
It doesn't look like this will be neccessary for any of the other dialogue attack options (they already have it.)

| Re: 4.7 - OW - Pinks house - Convo and Attacking Hmm, Jacobson had four guards spawn they and him attacked right away I believe.
Hmm Rodo came around the desk at me but I don't remember if I clicked him before he moved.
Hrolf and Bjarni mixed it up right away when I tried attacking him so not sure there either...
But yeah for the pinks we just stood there looking at each other, they were red, and not even Bjarni jumped in. I had to click on one in order to start fighting. | | |

| Great. Pinks should work right in terms of attacking in the next update. Plotwise if you kill them before you get the info you need from them I think you're stuck.

Not a good idea. Sorry, we should NEVER allow a player to be stuck. There needs to be a solution or make it so the 'getting stuck' can not happen. | | |

| Replace stuck with "fail."
If the PC kills the informants before getting the information out of them they may fail that subplot. They can accuse several suspects even without the pink's information.
---
I've looked over this all again. It's fairly robust and shouldn't be failing. There's a fair amount of interrogation to be done and several ways to fail.
The only way to get utterly "stuck" (i.e. unable to complete the quest) is if you kill the quest giver or if you start attacking random commoners and make the whole town hostile to you.

Not entirely true, cause I'm stuck right now with nobody to accuse or any way of ending this subquest, unless I'm missing something....I've talked to all the people I can click on. | | |

| Have you talked to all the quest related NPCs again?
Did you show Joseph your evidence?

| RE: 4.7 - OW - Pinks house - Convo and Attacking Edit : Bah should be on other thread...although you did ask here too...
Here are the conversations as they stand with me now...maybe this will help somehow.
Lieutenant Joseph.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:35] Lieutenant Joseph: Find anything useful?
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:37] Freram Highhill: Not yet. *Leave.*
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:39] Lieutenant Joseph: Find anything useful?
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:40] Freram Highhill: Some dimwitted half-orc in the tavern keeps raving about our "smooshed" victim. How does he know about the murder?
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:40] Lieutenant Joseph: Half-orc in the... Smiley? Strange. I didn't tell him anything... maybe he overheard someone talking about- well, no, the militia that's aware of the situation are out scouring the countryside, and otherwise, I've only mentioned it to you and Old Man Phinney...
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:41] Freram Highhill: He said he overheard some of the... how did he put it?... the guardsmen. Which I'm guessing are the miltia.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:41] Lieutenant Joseph: Hmm. No one's reported in yet, though there are still plenty of off-duty militia in town. This is very bad. Someone else obviously knows about the murder and is spreading the word. Finding the culprit is going to be even harder now.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:45] Freram Highhill: I'll get back to it then. *Leave.*
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:32:48] Lieutenant Joseph: Find anything useful?

The Old Man.

[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:34:24] Old Man Phinney: *Old Man Phinney turns away from you, his jaw set, and folds his arms. Apparently, he's said all he's going to say to you for now.*
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:34:26] Freram Highhill: *Walk away.*

[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:34:59] Freram Highhill: Ye gods, not from you, I don't.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:34:59] Smiley: *Smiley slides around the table and holds out a greasy tankard of ale, and you notice his hand is smeared with what appears to be dried ink, but just before he hands it to you, he pulls it back and drinks the ale down himself, then laughs.*
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:35:01] Freram Highhill: *Mutter.* Bloody half-breed.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:35:01] Smiley: Ho ho! Me just playing wit joo! Here... *He lifts a flap on his animal skin jerkin.* Joo like shinies? I sell shinies. *You look over his wares, and see a variety of jewelry, small art pieces, and polished gems, all sewn into place under the flap. With the exception of a few items, most are of low or mediocre quality. A flawless, polished fire opal, a solid gold half-heart inset with a diamond hanging on a thin gold chain, and a jade-pearl ring are what you gather to be the most valuable items.* You like? Best prices. Low prices.
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:35:04] Freram Highhill: Err... no thanks... I better be going. *Walk away.*

[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Tue Jan 02 09:35:25] PAUSED
I circled through them, when able, a couple times to get all the possible selections....as for the setup up to this point I talked to Joseph, went and got the diary, killed the pinks without talking to them, and then went back to the Lieutenant, and then the old man. I thought I was stuck then, but Weeblie reminded me of Smiley, as per above, and I went and talked to him, and now all three have the above convo's and no way out. Unless I am missing another NPC I should talk to. | | |
