| LSPM Fixed Bugs Move all fixed bugs for the Layonara Single Player Module here. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

| OW - Murder in the Mill Quest - No ending if killed pinks? - WEEBLIE [CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Thu Dec 28 12:47:01] Old Man Phinney: *Old Man Phinney turns away from you, his jaw set, and folds his arms. Apparently, he's said all he's going to say to you for now.*
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Thu Dec 28 12:47:02] Freram Highhill: *Walk away.*
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Thu Dec 28 12:46:24] Lieutenant Joseph: Find anything useful?
[CHAT WINDOW TEXT] [Thu Dec 28 12:46:25] Freram Highhill: Not yet. *Leave.*
I killed the Pinks with this char, as stated in another post, and...well...now I have no where to go? This is the extent of the conversations with these two people, and nobody else to talk to that I have seen...are there timers on these quests at all? Like the old man won't talk to me for a few days after I search his house?

Have you tried to speak with Joseph again?
Have you tried to speak with Smiley (the orcish guy in the Inn, if no one has moved him)?

| I haven't moved him ;) he's in the inn.

Additionally, just because you have the option to kill certain NPCs doesn't mean you'll be able to complete a given quest without them. Not sure if they're neccessary after this point. Weeb's questions are good ones though.
Because of this thread I added a popup when you get the diary that says how to "read" it (like how the shovel says how to dig with it.)

| Re: OW - Murder in the Mill Quest - No ending if killed pinks? Yes I have the diary, and have read it, good idea to put the pop up btw.
Those two are quotes from NPC's after getting and reading the diary, and killing the pinks.
Since getting the book...no I haven't talked to the orc, forgot about him actually.
I was pointing this out because there is really no 'ending' to it as it is now, it just kinda leaves the player hanging. Well, unless I can move it along with the orc. I just think we should tie it up somehow, at least give the player some kind of out to take it out of their journal and put it as a 'finished' quest, even if done incorrectly.
Edit: Maybe just a journal entry when you kill the Pinks will do?
Edit2: Ok talking to the orc progressed it one more step, and gave me another conversation option with the Liutenant, but I'm still stuck with an incomplete quest that needs to be tied up IMO. And would you believe that this is the first time I've seen this conversation branch lol. I'll have to check this out more I think...after work....and shopping....and dishes....and breakfast/dinner....

| Re: OW - Murder in the Mill Quest - No ending if killed pinks? - WEEBLIE Weeblie,
Can you please give me a recommendation on how to proceed to resolve this? (Or confirm that it is intended?)

| Re: OW - Murder in the Mill Quest - No ending if killed pinks? - WEEBLIE I'll look at this later!
But... hehe... if you are doing an investigation in RL and kills the witnesses... Ummm... The chance for getting stuck is kind of high, really!

| Re: OW - Murder in the Mill Quest - No ending if killed pinks? - WEEBLIE lol this is true, but I kinda like wraping up loose ends. I persoanlly hated that I had so many journal entries in NWN II that I wasn't going to finish or had chosen another road for the henchmen. It makes it look, well to me anyways, incomplete when I come to the end of the story and still have half a dozen journal entries I can't complete. I also get that this is a rather low priority, but I'm a tester I have to point out all this stuff to see if it is something you intended or not | | |

| Re: OW - Murder in the Mill Quest - No ending if killed pinks? - WEEBLIE Actually you're able to finish this quest regardless of when you kill the pinks. You just may not be able to succeed.

| Re: OW - Murder in the Mill Quest - No ending if killed pinks? - WEEBLIE I probably 'should' be able to, but I'm not I'm stuck with no where to go, nobody to accuse, nothin'. I'm thinking I might have to start a char and do a step by step to show you guys the conversations I'm taking...later still have to go through the main plot stuff. | | |

| Yeah, that stuff is the main priority, thank you for going the route of testing that.
The trick of the Murder quest is going back and re-interrogating the suspects after you learn or do certain other things.
Unless you've got an outpouring of bugs on the plot related stuff for me to work on tomorrow (which I totally wouldn't mind, i'm ready to get this done and released) I think I'll do some playing through of the whole thing in order (rather than testing this or that tiny bit as I have been able to do.) I'll do a game and make a point of killing off the pinks early on and see if I can bring the quest to an end.
Edit: ya know, I don't even remember who really did it at this point hehe.
