Quill stands on the dock outside of Lorindor watching aship sail off in the distance. A couple of hours have gone by when he finds out that she has returned. But why was he scared to see her? She been gone a year with no word, no letter, just gone. Was it fear that she no longer cared for him or that she could not stand his affilation with the Freelancers? All these thoughts coursed through Quills mind still not knowing the truth and not knowing if he was ready for the truth. So much has changed since she left. Where would they even begin?
He still looks out over the to the horizen as the ship gets smaller and smaller. He lets out a heavy sigh "Why did you leave me when I needed you most?" he whispers to the wind. "Have you written me off as dead or has you heart found a new love?" He pauses for a brief moment, tears swelling in his eyes as he considers what he is saying. "So much I want to say butI do not know if I can tell you." He wipes away the moisture from his eyes with his sleeve. He sits down and looks across the ocean, now the ship is gone. "Since you left who was I supposed to go to with my fears my anger and frustations. You were the only one that truly I could talk to about these things."He slams his fist into the dock floor. " I truly believed when you siad you would be there. Was I not there foryou and that is why you left?" He lets out a cry "... these thoughts!"Dock workers hear this and begins towatch himbut Quill still stares off in the direction of the ship wondering if has she even thought about him in the year she has gone.
Darkness comes and with it brings a new feeling. Inner hatred. He looks out to the ocean, now a blanket of shadow dancing in the night. As he searches the ocean in hopes of the ship that sailed hours ago he whispers. "Why did I let you leave? What stopped me from following you? Was that the reason you left for so long, because I did not come for you?" He lets out a deep sigh and closes his eyes as the cold wind rushes against his face. His mind searching for answers, but leave only more questions. . .
Quill opens his eyes and looks to the ocean one last time and lets out a deep breath. He turns and walks off the the dock and fades into the night still lost and even more uncertain of the future..
