So, gave the skill taunt to Sig when I made him and been raising it but when I tried to taunt something... Sig had to run right up next to it... then taunt it... couldn't he just stayed where he was and yell at the thing?

I've only tried using it solo and roughly at the start of a fight... to try and get the creatures attention so they come running at me... but it never worked that way. Not sure it it acts the same in groups. Does it?

This is another issue were the mechanics of the game do not fit the RP of the skill. Yes taunt should work the way you want and will during a quest were a GM is around and you let them know what you plan on doing. GM`s have the ability to make creatures move closer so the taunt mechanics can kick in.

Unfortunately NWN mechanics are what they are. The skill does come in handy when you want that tough guy to leave your cleric or mage alone and attack you instead.

Hm, not thinking they woulds apply the negative 1-6 AC to the taunted creature when the taunt success and they come charging over would they? :)

The taunted creature becoming angered, humiliated and/or whatever else causes them to lose focus thus the lose of AC... and spell failure... the later I find the needing to run up to then taunt... a bit more useless... the mage would no dought already have the spell cast before you ever get to them. >:/

[LORE]Taunt[/LORE]

Additionally, the taunt should be done with the voice commands for it to work, ( this is pressing the" V" key and looking for Taunt option  )

Does using the voice command apply the skill or just the animation?

the voice command applies the skill against the creatures taht are in the area range.

Also remember that monsters are dangerous for a reason, simply yelling at them won't make them go and jump over a ledge , this is a skill not a spell like ability, otherwise it woudl be used the same against pc's  whjo would be "taunted" to their deatshs. so don't rely on the mechanical side of that.

Just think of it as how Spiderman (tm) does with his oponents, saying annoying coments and making them angry so their minds got clouded by anger.  This of course its just an example.

Hope it helps to clarify it.
