| Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

Got no luck worth a shoe o' string,
got no kid, with a wife o' ring
got no life, no money no job
kickin tha wood like a no shot sob.
givin it up, cuz it ain't got tha touch
ain't got the skills, and aint' got tha luck.
Givin it up, cuz it's jsut a dream
it ain't real, o' so it seems
Tryin them yellows and red, and pinks
wearin them straight back colars givin me kinks.
my toes struck blood, and my mind gold
playin cards, just ta lose my soul.
darka ges commin, hang man's noose
i'm bettah off dead chap so turn me loose
Ain't got no luck with Shoe o' string
Got no kid with a wif o' ring
Got no life, no money, or job
still kickin 'at wood like a broke down S.o.b
i'm givin it up, ain't got tha skills
no way no how, just gunna get killed
given it up, not my place
i'll only end up last, in the final race.
Prayin for rain, and prayin for meat,
don't gott watch my teeth, cuz i don't eat.
passin by, gotta coin ta spare?
oh ya 'ats right, i ain't there.
playin my game with ball and cup
no dice son, just give it up.

Along down a road with a one two three
had scary eyes sending shivers through me.
Deep red skin and some long dark horns
grinnin' with malice and laughin' with scorn
two shakes later he was here too
slicked back his hair and said his name was Lou
"Got grim biz if you gotta stiff back
got some souls t'take and I'm a bit slack
now ya got no choice as yanno who i am
so nod your head and say yes man
Three names three deeds
that's all i need
so do it right and ya'll stay freed" OooooooW
When evil came knockin
and death came talkin
all th'details shockin
and th'birds go flockin
Cuz yall know no one's near
cuz ya run like hell when the devil's here
So like that i had t'sell my soul
never had a chance to reach my goals
had three men's heads on my name
puttin' my family all t'shame
doin' lies and bittin time
knowin' now i'll pay for my crime
but what can ya do when the devil says jump
there's no way other way to get over his bump
so i waved good by and prayed to the sky
askin' ole nobody oh "hells why?"
When evil evil came knockin'
and death came talkin'
all th'details shockin'
and th'birds go flockin'
cuz yall know no one's near
cuz ya run like hell when the devil's here
Three day's later Ole Lou came back
and found out quick i didn't do jack
he played it calm and let out a sigh
shook his head "don't fight me guy
"I'm not a man to mess with
so give in now and make the list
no harm no foul bygones gone
cross me twice and forever'll be long"
starin' game right and back
I wouldn't back down and that's a fact
so i stood up with a lute and hand
and give him a game and a demand
"out play me in tune Ole Lou
and I'll do y our list just for you"
He laughed and hollered and rolled withe glee
"ya actually th ink you can beat me?"
so i started with my one two three
When evil came knockin'
and death came talkin'
all th'details shockin'
and th'birds go flockin'
cuz yall know no one's near
cuz ya run like hell when the devil's near
my sound rang hard and people came
sound so raw made beasts tame
women cried and men cheered
all the while Ole Lou leered
i sang bout hard times and real life
sang about gambling and addiction strife
sang bout one legged runners
and godless shunners
then Ole Lou had enough an cut in
started singing bout hell and how it'd end
gave fear and sound a whole new word
people from that day called him absurd
people booed and said no way no how
soon enough we'd lost our crowd
well Ole Lou looked mad
but a deal's a deal and I'm glade
cuz Ole Lou stomped his way home
I beat Ole Lou and I'm makin it known.
