And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. He doesn't cheap out with gestures that miraculously explain everything - he points, he looks pointedly, he gestures to eyes and ears and uses what props he has. I find him an engaging character. Again, Kudos! | If my memory serves me, its the player of Cole Norsemen. I cant remember the name, only when I saw cole under his avatar.
Correct me if Im wrong. And yeah, steel is great.

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Cire, Kinai, Hawky, and Tallia Spellfinger So much fun rping the bear attack with you guys =D. Allowed me to put out there a bit that Tath isn't jsut a human who happens to be able to be a bear at times, but he is actually a bear AND a human, and when you stab at a bear, he's not very cuddly anymore =P.
anyways, awesome time looking foreward to future sessions =D.

And btw - Dur was genuinely shocked that you fought with him in Prantz :0)

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Not sure of the player's name but the character is Balthazar Woll.
I made a new character, a druid, who just started exploring his 'new world' last night and had the fortune of running into Balthazar Woll - a highish level fighter. Normally I would make a decision NOT to party up with a character that I know (OOC) to be considerably higher level than mine ... but ... the next couple of hours we travelled around and I really learnt it was possible for two characters of differing level to wander together and stay well within the spirit of the game/server at all times.
Balthazar, the higher level PC, used a non-preferred weapon, got cramp (or something similar) during certain battles that rendered him incapable of joining in, ran off in the wrong direction, advised against fighting too-tough foes, etc ... effectively 'de-levelled' himself beautifully for the duration of their wandering. I thought it was really impressive.

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Kudos to Shak Xer
Shak Xer is one of our new goblin characters. When Shak first met my character Nyeaeana, he asked Nye if he hunted goblins from the red fang clan. Nyeaeana told him that he uses lots of green stones for the purpose of brewing potions. Shak then tried to reason with Nye, stating that many humans were slaughtering the goblins and stealing their food supplies. Nye was not so responsive to this, as he sees the red fangs as being a strong and healthy clan. Shak then pleaded with Nye to spare the goblins and only take the green stones which are unguarded. Nyeaeana was still admit that as the red fang clan is strong and healthy, he was not concerned about a few dead goblins. After several days of negotiating, Shak offered to give Nyeaeana a tribute of green stones, with the agreement that Nyeaeana would not hunt any red fang goblins. *toothy grin as Nyeaea realizes that he such a fearsome hunter, that the red fang clan is offering him a tribute to spare their lives* So the deal was made.
Shak Xer is gathering green stones from unguarded spots, and will give no less then 15 stones once a week (( RL 2 days )) as payment for Nyeaeana's solemn oath that he will never hunt the red fang tribe. To which Nyeaeana agreed that he will never hunt a red fang goblin.
That is a lot of work for some good RP, and I think that someone should hit that little goby with an XP wand.

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Over the past couple of days, Ceviren's been more or less a permanent fixture of the Temple of Rofirein in Fort Vehl, thanks to the indulgence of the Rofireinites who allow him the use of their holy pool... In that time, he's come across a number of interesting characters, and some grand RP has been had from it!
First and foremost...
Rick Greenheart. A halfling druid whose different shapes Ceviren takes for different animals entirely, his cat form has become something of a temple pet, while his snake form has to be dragged out of the temple by a handy Earth Mephit from time to time. I have to say that this character has made my time at the Temple more complete than any other, as the intermittent interaction over the course of a few hours really made the place feel more real.
Nisbet Narine (played by Mirrim Cade). A fine example of deity relations! Beryl + Aeridin = Happy... Gemcrafter + Enchanter = MUCH happy! Ceviren and Nisbet hit it off from the start, and I must say that Nisbet is as close to the ideal of a cleric of Beryl as I can imagine. A gnome played truly well! And another working-class cleric.
Drexia Faison. A well-played monk who also added to the sense of the-world-turns in my time at the temple. Every last time she had been in the Temple of Rofirein, not only had Ceviren been there in an RP sense (because he's usually there meditating and preparing potions when I'm not on), he had been there with me playing him... Every time. As he had just run out of knuckles, they went off to lay to rest the poor fellows in the Gloomwood, and the RP in there was excellent as well.
There's others out there that have shown some amazing RP, but... The point of this post is to highlight those who bring the world depth to my eyes; who help illustrate the tapestry of life on Layonara. The ones who make it feel like I'm not just logging on and spamming potions... But rather that my character's in a living world that moves on its own.
And that, honestly, is one of the greatest things I could hope for as an RPer.

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Just wanted to thank all those who participated in the Stormcrest guide to Folian's temple.
Thanks Rodlin for taking the lead and providing so much information on the way.
Thanks Emie and Allean for being the perfect rangers.
And thanks for Vellucia for being the most annoying person I ever seen in a party The Forest of Folian will never be the same, you have spoken more words in there, than what generations of rangers have.
I really enjoyed the event and was laughing so hard OOC it is just not true.

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Right, so this was over due but thanks again for the trip. In a word it was simply amazing! It was fun, the roleplaying was awesome with everyone who were there.
Heh, I'm glad to hear people enjoyed Vell, cause I sure enjoyed the rest of you, 'specialy poor Rolidin and Emie, Allean doesnt count cause he ran away to play with that wolf *sniffles* for some reason I dont think he likes Vell :P.
Oh the part where we finally had to climb crawl and jump just to reach the temple cracked me up so much, thanks for GM Rowana for all her help and helping kick Vell's fat behinds through the needed places
So thank you guys again, and for that wolf ranger...I will make a stew of you some day.
Hope we could have more trips in the future! *thumbs up*

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay I personally would like to thank MJZ (Ariel), Kindo (Cederic), Shiff, Amireana, Tariana, and all the many others who've taken the time to RP with Emwonk, or even any of my other characters. These are just some of the group of players/characters I've been involved with of late.
I also wish to thank all the previous RPer's I've had the pleasure of playing with, which include, but are not limited to: osxmallard (Lillian, Addison, Ardelis, and others), Rhynn, Ozymandius, AnnaLee, Freldo, Daralith, Kyle, Ferrit, Talen Sgath, and still many more.
If I didn't mention you by name, and I've RPed with you, don't take it personal. Almost everyone I've encountered in the (almost) year I've been here at Layonara have been good RPer's, or at least I consider them so, even if they dont' repeatedly get mentioned in threads such as this. My mind can't remember everyone, however, and even as I type this last paragraph I can think of several others I forgot to mention who were no less great than those who have been mentioned. One prime example is Bumblebee (or any of his other characters).

Pseudonym, Tanman, pinkpowerbait! And thanks to all the Gms who helped us make the meet more fun!

Secondly I want to give praise to and thank both the character and the Player Treana for helping Rhynn through something. Good RP , and it was also much appreciated. I took a lot of what you said and applied it to RL, lots of good words of wisdom

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Just wanted to thank Peanut (Mooneyes) and Acacea for some really enjoyable roleplay at the Stromcrest Shack yesterday.
Hearing of all of Peanut's dreams and goals was really enjoyable and then later when Acacea "fell" from her perch and started telling Peanut about the halfling tribes. I could just feel the enthusiasm flow from both of you. Perfect roleplay from both in portraying of a halfling.
Well done! | | |

We were primarily level 17s to 20s who have never or almost never saw the eastern server before, so taking it slowly from Arnax to Miritix and RPing the discoveries and sights (Even if they're nothing new to your character, exploring it more throughly with someone they are new for) of the server. In my opinion even if it didn't give off loads of XP or loot, I still had more fun with this event then I would've in the Deep.
So Thanks: Pyyran, Hawklen, Kinai, Bjorn, Elladan, Malor, Nob. If I forgot your name I'm really sorry I'm kind of out of it today. It was a great RP event though and I hope to do more if you'll join me !

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay A couple of new players asked to join a quest I was running the other night. Can't remember their forum names (and I am too lazy to look it up) but the character's names were Taric and Hotaru.
It was a testament to their RP ability that despite the presence of some higher level, more experienced players/characters present, they both got in there and weren't afraid to offer opinions, contrary or otherwise, roll their skills, etc, etc. I especially liked when the rest of the party moves on to the next stage of the adventure and Taric hangs back a moment to try and bluff Farmer Part that he is from the Layo IRS and Part is in arrears .... better luck next time, he's been dealing with cheeky adventurers for a long time now sonny!!!

| Re: Kudos for great roleplay Oh yes, that made me giggle Was very cool to watch Taric and Hotaru fight it out, and I just love watching them in general!
Anyhow, kudos to Taric, Aeryn, Klaug, and Ori-something or another (magnusarin's character) for listening to Kinai tell her story at least some time during this day. She's trying to be a bard without taking the classes, and sometimes she just makes no sense since she's no true storyteller Loved the reactions either way, I might get addicted to storytelling!
Also, thanks to Storold, Alantha, Hawklen, and Mylindra for the roleplay fun during Inny's quest (you too, Inny!). I think things just got a whole lot more dangerous
And, last but not least, the usual thumbs up to Hawk. I get the giggles around you!
