Rumour Has It This forum will be used by players and GM's to post gossip (in character) about what is happening in the world as it happens. IE, outcomes of quests, attacks on towns etc.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Waking the Undead: Setting sail

by Nus the Bard

The story probably goes back to Quantum the Undead slayer and his early exploits in the hunt for Mechidil the Demi Lich and the three Vampires, others say it begins with Tcarre the Demon Witch of the Black Isle and the making of the Twin Swords of Toran and Corath. I am not sure any of these events are related and would not care to say at this time.

What I do know is thta in recent times a small band of adventurers hired to carry raw gold, for further working, to a remote Island too difficult to find without magical aid, recorded the sighting of a pyramid on that remote Druid run island.

Much later and nearer home Undead attack on those of Aeridin and others prompted the interest of Paladins and Undead hunters in various cults around Sielwood and Swordrust Mountains. The pyramid seemed to link these events in some fashion or other. I have consulted far and wide and sense various tales best told by those involved merging as one; the link to such a merging I will explain.

Cal the Undead hunter of Toran and senior to Quantum, organised a party to rescue a Gnomish inventor and navigator from the clutches of Drow captors. With his freedom, and expertise there seemed a way open to return to the island described by those gold carriers of long ago.

It seems the navigator, having built a device, has persuaded his Captain to take the Vital Spark back into these magical waters that hide a long forgotten Island. It is expected a party of adventurers might hope to join the crew with a view to lining the captain's pockets with gold coin and the adventurers..well who knows?

Default RE: Waking the Undead: Setting sail

by Nus the Bard

I have received information that a group of would be adventurers have indeed set sail for parts unknown. No news of their fate has yet reached these shores. Before they left there was wils talk of demon bashing, Undead slaying, and child rescuing...I could not write such a yarn myself, and I can only assume the drink is to blame. Nonetheless I will await their return for I am sure I can obtain some material from this crew.

//continues next Sunday (the Gatekeeper)for those involved, can I have some sign ups..or unavailables to give me an idea..thanks.
