Rumour Has It This forum will be used by players and GM's to post gossip (in character) about what is happening in the world as it happens. IE, outcomes of quests, attacks on towns etc.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Default Demon alert at Hlint stood down

a group of adventurers out exploring the goblin mines near to Hlint returned to report a strange encounter. The goblins seemed to be sheltering a travelling band of followers of Corath. For whatever reason they chose not to enter Hlint openly. So surprised at their discovery they attempted to summon a Balor Lord and things went badly for them. They were all killed by their own summons and the Balor Lord escaped. The adventurers returned to report matters at Hlint and a stout defence was arranged. All now is at peace and the guard have stood down. The Balor Lord has escaped elsewhere.

**Ramanon reads the note and scowls**
"Fools! Death will be a luxury for what the dark lord has in store for thier miserable failures. Anyway who bloody authorized their actions here on Mistone!?
I must consult with the Priests in Arabel."

*Michaelis walks by and seeing the note he shakes his head* I'll need to speak with the church about this.

*Turor, enjoying a wonderful night of smoking, drinking, and being rather halfling-less, looks at the notices on the board... And then drops his pipe and sputters his ale, tugging on his beard*

Ballerord, huh? An' dem stankin' hoomins tenk dem kin foight beck, eh? Fah, 'stoot derfanince' me harry arse. Ah beht dem hoomins beh creppin' der selfs in der armors roight knoo wonnerahn wen be der ballerord gorna coom get'um! Be a goord toim ter move tahr Pranzis, har!

*write beneath the note*

All dwarves, should you value your honor and the name of your clan, should stand up to the Balor should you encounter it. Give no quarter; It certainly won't. Bolster the defense of Hlint, and improve moral. It's obvious with a BALOR LORD on the lose that someone has to get things in gear.

*Wanders by and reads the note, then he writes*

The Balor Lord I see has escaped, is there another one...? Steel would not ever banish this demon, only intelligence and ritural.
Why am I even writing this? I am the Mad one in town...
