Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. | RE: Several Bows for Auction *neatly written in a plain script at the bottom of the notice below the four drawings*
I would offer 20,000 gp for the yew crossbow. As you have set no minimum for these fine bows, and as I have little experience setting an appropriate value on them, I will make amends if this bid is deemed to be unsuitable.

| RE: Several Bows for Auction *Xiao walks up to the current bids and moans. After hanging his head a moment he writes some notes on a piece of paper and tacks them to the board*
"It is said a man who has committed a mistake and doesn't correct it, is committing another mistake. I have committed a mistake in not posting minimum bidsÂfor these bows. However, as the mistake was mine, and bids have already been placed on the compound yew bow, I will honor whatever the final bid is.Â
I would like to emphasize once more, however, that this auction is for the good of the alliance. The gold spent on these items is what is most important. The bows are merely a reward for your generosity. Please consider the times we are in and the dangers aheadÂwhen you place your bid.
I will not place minimum bids on the other three bows. I will trust my fellow men and women to do what is right, and bid appropriately. Even if one does not want one of these bows, they could place a high bid for it, and then sell the bow themselves afterwards. Should they not recover the entire sum of their bid, then they can consider the difference as an act of generosity that is sorely needed for all of us.
The bidding will last one more week. ((Saturday, December 24, 7:00 am PST)).Â

| RE: Several Bows for Auction When just an amount is bid, IÂfeel it is safe to assume the bid is being placed on the Yew Compound Longbow. If you wish to bid on a different bow, please specify which one, along with your bid. Thank you.

| RE: Several Bows for Auction *Xiao notes that only the yew compound bow has been bid on and scratches his head*
"Surely there are those who could use a compound mahogany bow," he muses as he walks off.

| RE: Several Bows for Auction *Xiao walks up to the list of bids and shakes his head*
"It seems everyone has the bow they need. Perhaps the alliance can make use of them," he sighs as he writes the following note: Only two days left for the auction. The bows not bid on will be donated to the alliance. Winning bidder(s) will be contacted by me to make arrangements for trade.

| RE: Several Bows for Auction *Kavil looks at the poster again, notes the bids for the yew longbow*
"Hmm...that is quite a large sum of money. My bid for the crossbow is far too low for such a fine weapon."
*he lines out his original bid, writing plainly beneath it*
I withdraw the bid for the yew crossbow, as it is clearly not worthy of such fine craftsmanship. I regret that I cannot offer a just sum, as the coins I have must go to other purposes and methods that support the defense of Mistone.
