Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

| Oak Long Compound Bow for sale *notice posted in the trade halls*
I, Luna, have a long oak compound bow for sale.
It has had some use, but I took real good care of it. I oiled the wood on a regular basis and it comes equipped with a brand new bow string as well. It has served me well for at least a year. I hate to part with it, but I have a new bow now and this one is just taking up valuable space.
Please mark your bid in the space provided. All proceeds will be donated to the Mistone Alliance for the war effort.
Thank you!

| RE: Oak Long Compound Bow for sale *Sees the bidding for the oak compound longbow and shakes his head* *Takes out some charcoal and makes a note below Luna's note*
This is a great bow and worth at least double if not triple the last bid. Taking into account the time, effort and materials needed to make such a bow, it would be a shame if it sells for only 3000 gold.
Luna before you sell it for that shameless amount, come speak to me.

"People shouldn't be trying to skew an auction when they know full well that they've no use for what's up for bid."
6000.

| RE: Oak Long Compound Bow for sale *looks to Yard*
No hard feelings Yard, but I could buy it for that amount and resell it and make quite a nice profit. I know what I have sold these bows for in the past to other customers.
But I wont push you on this, it seems you really want the bow.
Still a big bargain at 6000 gold.

| RE: Oak Long Compound Bow for sale *smiles, not having realized that Jacchri was nearby*
Indeed, it's quite a far cry beyond the hickory bow that I carry now. To be honest, there are no hard feelings. It's for the best cause on the continent, after all. I was a little apprehensive at there being no starting price, actually. For the sake of the alliance, I'll throw in another thousand gold. I up my bid to 7,000 gold. | | |

| RE: Oak Long Compound Bow for sale *smiles to Yard and walks up*
*pats him on the back*
Always knew you are a good man...err...elf I mean, friend. Hand me that bow, I willÂset the cams to the right tension for you.
And if you bring me some iron or platinum we could improve it even more for you.
*starts making small adjustments, testing the tension....after about 10 minutes he hands the bow back*
Luna did indeed look after the bow, wood is still in a very good condition. Remember to oil it regulary.
There, try that now. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
