| Wild Surge Inn This forum is to the place to go to speak in character about things in the game, spin tales, or...Please keep this In Character (IC) at all times. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | The Traveling Bard's Tavern Reviews Soaked to the bone, aching from head to toe, and parched as a desert? You need the warmth of a good tavern, the company of an eye catching beauty, and the flowing spirits of Xeen to recharge your batteries. But wait, what’s this? A bunch of old drunk sailors, drafty walls, and swill you suspect came from the latrine. Well fear no more, the Traveling Bard is to the rescue. This is your guide for finding your tavern, your home away from home. Is it good company that gets you going? Or is it the fine concoctions of a master brewer that you crave? Perhaps you prefer to be pampered and are looking for that unique luxurious experience. Or perhaps it is the melodic hymns of a master bard that is what you are looking for. Look no further, the Traveling Bard will set you straight. Here you will find reviews for all the taverns across the lands, using a unique four stein rating system. No more wasting the night at a hole in the wall drinking swill and waking up on a hardwood floor. The Traveling Bard is your guide to your place of refuge and relaxation. Four Stein Rating System: Each tavern will be given a ranking between 1 & 4 indicating its quality. 1 is the worst, 4 is the best. █} - Best to avoid █} █} - Ok in a pinch █} █} █} - Worth a visit █} █} █} █} - Not to be missed To come up with a tavern’s overall rating, it will be evaluated in four different areas... - Establishment: The quality of the surroundings, the building, and the accommodations.
- Food & Beverage: The quality and assortment of its various food and beverage offerings.
- Entertainment: The quality of the entertainment. Jukeboxes, pianist, musicians, gambling, etc.
- Patronage: The quality of the folks that you can typically find at the establishment.
Overall rating will be an average of all four areas rounded to the nearest half based on The Traveling Bard’s discretion. “Eat, drink, sing, and be comfortable.” - Courtesy of Flynn de Ballard | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to jadewillow For This Useful Post: | |

| Re: The Traveling Bard's Tavern Reviews I finally had the opportunity to visit the Leringard Arms Inn. What a delight. My new found friend Kali and old comrade Jaigan were the most attentive hosts. Travelers from all over Layonara came to trade stories, talk business, and enjoy the great selection of food and beverages. This is one tavern that should not be missed my friends.
