| Wild Surge Inn This forum is to the place to go to speak in character about things in the game, spin tales, or...Please keep this In Character (IC) at all times. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | A note : Attention would-be adventurers. On this day I did slay an Orc chieftain in the sielwood forest. We met, and exchanged insults, during this time he thought to mock me, by saying that his tribe would soon soon lay claim to the sielwood, and that I should flee, to warn the pathetic humans and weak elves that the sielwood was to become the range of whatever clan he was chieftain of. Well, It did not work out quite as he had expected, and after knocking him down and spearing him through with my blade I am certain the orcs may take some time to fight amongst themselves for the newly vacated chieftain position.
The incident was reported to Garent in Hlint, but he informed me that his forces are spread pretty thin... what with the drow and all, so I thought to post this bulliten here to alert those less seasoned who travel the sielwood, and perhaps as an incentive for strapping adventurers to investigate further.
Signed,
Bidwick Mandershanks - Armorsmith and adventurer

*Toman walks into Hlint after a successful run with ledgands such as Brutus Clawfoot, Fian Bearsk, and Derrick Loadson, even the mysterious Plenarious (spelling) is with them into the Silent Watch mountains. Facing many giant-kin foe and reads the notice* Intersting this do be, perhaps we be able ta make up a bit o a party ta deal wit these orcs. I met meself a witch afore an she be kind enough, iffin' a bit rude, but tha can be dismissed, people in power be able ta be rude. I be sendin' a word out, although I be 'earin o giants bandin' tagether in tha Silent Watch. Iffin' we take care o tha' fire giant leader we can be surely takin' care o tha bleedin' orc.
*chuckles and walks into the Surge for a drink*
Aye, they be commin' when ol Toman be callin', we be solvin' it up right quick fer you citizen's o Hlint. Jus' be givin' us time lad! *drowns himself in ale and promply forgets about it for the night, trying to convince Cara to share his room with him, even though she knows better* ((The last words you hear are: Aye, a shadowmaster o xeen be up fer tha task iffin' a tankered o ale be waiten at tha end an a pretty lass))
((I'm sure I can put something together given the right opportunity, only problem is pulling me away from Dregar *winks* or perhaps someone else can.))
**second post**
**Dashiva Elendil, Wizardress of Mist, Defender of Hlints Virginity, and Self Proclaimed Protector of Rurik Kessel does not recieve the notice, simply content to live her life out on Dregar while awaing some lazy sod to give her the scrolls she has ordered does not reieve the message unless it is sent directly to her. She could care less, but should the High Priestess Yashilla send word, she will come without notice.**
((I apoligize if I'm metagaming a bit, but feel free to try contact Toman Adenith, or get Yashilla to contact Dashiva should you require their assitance in the matter. Dashiva only answers to Yashi, and Toman well, heh, if any of you have partied with him, he's a bit full of himself and a free spirit.))
((End post))

| RE: A note : Attention would-be adventurers. A small heavily cloaked stranger looks at the initial note and scrawls on the bottom of it. What you met foolish man was not a chieften but a mere footsoldier of a mercenary group of orcs feared even by their own kind for their ferocity in battle. I saw the combat from my place in the shadows and I give you warning. He was but one single warrior and while you bested him he did land several blows upon you. Dont underestimate them.

| RE: A note : Attention would-be adventurers. "Funny..." Alayna Redwaters sips a heavy, thick ale with obvious amusement, whilst sitting back in a seat with her ankles crossed before her, "I met an orc out thar, too. Claimed tah be cleanin' the place out fer dah kobolds or sommit. He wasn' much tougher dan me, but I was worried 'bout me ox, so naturally, ah had tah stop pickin' off malachites an' up an' leave." She sets her ale down. "Ye can do it, if'n ye try, but if'n ye think tah jes' go in thar an clean the place up, well... Then yer in fer some not so fun wave-ridin', if'n ye know what I'm fer meanin'." | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
