Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Undead Attacks!

*posted in all inns on Mistone*

The constant attacks by the mummy like creature has been responsible for many deaths, many foolish adventurers have been killed by this power. It has attacked the Wild Surge Inn in Hlint as well as the inn in Fort Hope, everybody who was caught in these inns were killed by the power of this monster.

If this Monster is encountered turn and RUN away, by this you may live,
Captain Garent of Hlint has tried to defend the population, but his attempts against the monster have been ineffective,

This is an update on the ongoing Undead situation
-Warning travelling in the vicinity if Hlint may be dangerous, if this undead is sighted run

The Undead has been sighted in the area of Hlint again, I saw it myself and promptly ran, thus i survived, others were not so lucky. I as well as other concerned adventurers departed to the Temple of Lucinda in Spelgard to research this Creature. We found evidence that the creature was either a shapeshifted necromancer stuck in that form, or a posessed undead, with a failed casting.

We continue our research into this unusual creature, anyone who has experience in the matter of this undead would be helpful if you were to speak to the authorities in Hlint or someone invovled in the research

We are not sure but there may be a connection between this undead creature and the Shade's Eye.

Anyone with information about the Shade's Eye should contact a person invovled in this reasearch.

From our reasearch we have discovered that the Shade's Eye is a powerful magical artifact. It was used by a necromancer long ago to shapeshift himself in to undead forms. Unfortunately this artifact has been lost suposedly around the Broken Forest area. It was lost when a Paladin purified the forest of the undead.

I have heard a bit about this Artifact and would be interested in any attempts to recover it.

*Note Posted on the Inn in Hlint

The creature strikes in full might once again. This time at least four times in Hlint alone all in the same day. I have seen with my own eyes and felt with my own skin the vial filth storm through Hlint taking lives by the hand fulls. All that have stood in its path have been taken down. This should be a call to arms for the stronge willed. Join together as one might and conquer this evil. Join the mightiest our land has to offer and by Aeridin's Will defeat this undead scourge.

The Undead Creature has attacked me as well as others. I was not unconcious and brought somewhere, although i do not know where. In the place there was a platform with a man in the middle, it was covered with fog in many diferent colors. This man tried to communicate with me although he was obviously scared. I did manage to get a little information from him.
He said a crytic message about Rouge being on top of Cerrulean and sometimes Gold, the fog that was on teh platform was of these colors. He asked me to help him although i am not sure with what. I think that he wanted help to save him from the undead creature. He then vanished and the Undead moster appeared, He walk towards we and asked "Are you afraid?" to this i responded yes, but we will destroy you.
He then asked me if i wanted to kill an innocent. and went on to say that if i killed him i would kill an innocent. I can only presume tht he meant the man.

I believe that this is proof that the Undead is being posessed because of its unusual inteeligent and because it left me alive. This still does not explain why it is attacking towns and slaughtering the inhabitants.

I am not sure whether this event actually happened or wheter it was just a vision, either way this undead needs to be avoided or, tried to be communicated with.

Contact me if you have any ideas on what this might mean

I have recovered the Gem of Divination! With this we hope to be able to see the true intentions and nature of the Undead Creature, through this we hope to discover what this monster really is. This may help us resolve this mattter.

The gem was purchased at the Estate Sale of the late Herbert P. Squigglemerk, at this auction other amazing and valuable items were sold. These included a cut emerald, an exceptional emerald set in a mithril ring and a suit of cobalt armor. These items were sold for amazing amounts of gold. The Gem was also auction during this time.

I hope to use this gem on the creature next time i see him to try and understand him.
