Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Unusual Behavior

*Copy of a Letter handed to Captain Nefzen of Hlint*

Sir

Whilst I and two friends were stood talking outside the Smithy's workshop in Hlint the other night. We noticed a dark clad figure on top of the large platform behind us. At first we thought nothing of it, as people often wish to keep theselves to themselves, and that is not a crime, but whenever we glanced in their direction, they would dodge behind cover; whilst this behavior in itself is not a overly strange, it was a little unnerving.

What really raised our suspicions was this figure seemed intent on avoiding contact with anyone. And on several occasions, used some inate skill to blend into the shadows, and we lost sight of them for a while. Sophia's dog was the next to alert us to this strange figure. Jacchri, who was throwing sticks for dog to fetch, sent one in the direction of the large tree between the Bank and Smithys, the dog duly chased it and upon reaching the tree, started snarling and barring its teeth. It was then that we spotted the figure once more; of average height and build for a man, clad in dark clothing and their face covered by a dark hood. I walked towards them, they dodged ito the shadows and skulked off. To be sighted again near the house near the crypt gates. I again followed, but my tracking skills are not those of a ranger, and once again this strange character evaded us. we continued our conversation, which would not be of any real interest to anyone, as it was about our lives and families.

Jacchri having gone to the Crafthall about an hour previous, now returned, he saw the figure on the platform again, and realising that he had cornered the stranger, moved up the ramp to confront him; and find the reason for his behaviour. It was at this point that events took a more suspicious turn, the mystery figure muttered a few arcane words and a pool of darkness enveloped Jacchri; enabling our eavesdropper to escape. Sophia had by chance prepared some magic mutterings, and provided me with ability to see through a persons invisibility, and I gave pursuit. However while I consider myself quick over short distances, the considerable wieight of my armour soon took its toll on my stamina, and the mystery man made good his escape. I last saw him running towards Hlint Eastside.

While none of these instances constitute a crime, these are indeed troubled times, and only this morning, I have heard that a notorious bandit; Dirk Driss is possibly roaming around Mistone I thought better report it to you.

I spend a lot of time in and around Hlint, and if you need to ask me any other questions then I am only to willing to help. I also have mentioned this to a friend of mine; Ulver Arndt as he I beleive has similar skills, and while I know it wasnt Ulver, there is a striking resemblance in build and clothing.

Yours sincerely

Marion Saywer.

Default RE: Unusual Behavior

//OOC: It is pretty cool that you would take the time to draw up a map in order to report this incident. Good job.
