World Leader Development Quests (WLDQ's) Please use this forum if you have reached level 20 and wish to apply to become a World Leader. This is not a requirement but there are benefits of being a World Leader.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Ahndar Sussail

Character Name: Ahndar Sussail Current Level: 20 Is halfway to level 22 An update on your bio: When Ahndar first came to the small town of Hlint, he didnt have many friends. Just out of the academy, his focus was entirely on his devotion to Lucinda, and as such, the temple at Blackford Castle almost became his new home. Countless hours were spent at the enchanting pool there, as Ahndar saw, and still see, the art of enchanting items with a fragment of his beloved Lady's weave as the ultimate worship of magic. For a long time his enchanting revolved solely on creating healing potions. In his dayly travels through, and around, Hlint Ahndar saw much suffering. Mostly from injuries of combat. In fact, several of his first aquitances outside the church was gained from offering healing potions, and later by spreading Lucinda's magic through spells of protection and healing to adventurers. This was also how Ahndar came to find his first friend. One day while travelling through the Sielwood forest, Ahndar came upon a darkclad rather rough fighter by the name of Derrick. At first, Derrick offered his assistance because he felt he owed Lucinda a favor. He recognized the holy symbol Ahndar wore around his neck. Derrick and Ahndar travelled far and wide together, often in the company of other adventurers. Especially the dark elven wizard Tathnolu often joined them, and the this unlikely group of companions often went exploring, and more often than not got into alot of trouble. To further his advances in enchanting, Ahndar took up both gem crafting and tinkering. To be able to imbue a weapon with the magical properties of the elements, to channel the very strength of Lucinda into the finest of gems. These were means of spreading magic and the word of Lucinda to the common people. And so, Ahndar applied all his effort into this. It was at this time Ahndar agreed to start up a new business with his two friends, the ranger Seteece, and the warrior Brutus. With other people helping in the gathering of materials, this would leave more time for Ahndar to work on his skills. All profits from sales went into this as well, but this never bothered Ahndar. The business evolved over time, and the day came when they all agreed to expand into an official guild. And so The Freelancers were born. The guild is governed by a ruling council of 5 members known as the founders, and Ahndar was elected the official head of the guild. Each of the other 4 other founders are considered among Ahndar's best friends; Seteece, Quillwem, Pathfinder, and Xiao. The Freelancers has prospered and today its numbers include many people. A new grand guild hall is in the process of being erected in Port Hampshire. Today Ahndar is a master craftsman in several areas including enchanting, tinkering, gemcrafting, and smelting. With his dedication to excelling in his crafts, and the continuing paperwork required for the head of a major merchants guild, Ahndar's life has been extremely busy the last years. So busy even, that he feels his ties to the temple are wearing thin. Even though his dedication to Lucinda is as good as ever, he is troubled by this fact, and lately he has been neglecting guild business for visits to Spellgard. ********** Quests ********** Ahndar has been involved in quite alot of quests, both plot quests, and "normal" ones. I will try to list the most important ones here, but im sure i have forgotten a few. [*]The Scrolls of Melizaphei - Ahndar was there for most of the quest i think, but couldnt join the last sessions due to RL timeconstraints. [*]The Way of the Dead - I think he was there for most sessions of this one. [*]Shadows of the lakes [*]Circumstance [*]The Relic Hunters - Working for the temple of Lucinda to recower lost artifacts [*]Soul of a Lost Ancient - First one Ahndar joined was when the King and Queen was escorted to the meeting with Blood. I think he was pretty much on all of them up to the one where we recovered the shadow blade. [*]Soul of a Lost Ancient - Blood Pool #1 - Ahndar was there when the first bloodpool was destroyed, and he left a big part of himself down there. [*]He helped bring back the chromatic dragons [*]He helped convince the Blue, Green, Black, and Shadow dragons to help. Was especially a big help with the shadow dragon, by allowing it to use him as a chair and a tennis ball [*]Helped in the raising of the Ancient Library, both by donation, and action. [*]Helped Rurik in his ECDQ, and is greatly marked by Rurik's passing. [*]Is helping Kobal in his ECDQ, been near drowning several times, dead a few times, almost undead, attacked a holy place to Ilsare, and forced to run around in a rusty chain mail [*]Is helping Xiao on his ECDQ ********** What happens now ********** I have talked a little bit with Harlas about running this if approved and what would happen, but we will talk a lot more if it gets approved. Mostly what im after is for Ahndar to reform his ties with the temple, hopefully even strengthening them. Maybe learn about his heritage, and the ties to Lucinda. But i am very much open for suggestions and artistic freedom on the DM's part Thank you for considering this.

Heh.
Approved. Good luck. Ask a GM in the normal cdq/ecdq thread to have it run. Harlas is a great GM so I would have no problems at all with him running it.
