Mist

I was told recently in character that the mist had been dealt with in some manner with the implication that Daniel's search for answers and justice should go with it. Caveat being the person who told him this would have a very good reason for him not to pursue his stated course.
 
  What rumors/threads would enlighten him if any in this regard?  Thanks in advance for any help in clearing this up.
