Perhaps I'm just not seeing if it is addressed. Can we have new floors (New Areas) added to our homes. For example, Stairs going to a lower level. (An area transition to the new floor.) It looked to me like the thread was addressing changes in size of the existing home area.. What I had in mind was not additional rooms added in the same grid, but a new area.

All the floor plans I have seen have any multiple floors in the same Area.

On that basis, if you wanted a new floor, you would probably have to extend the size of the existing Area to accommodate it.

To have an actual additional Area would be an exception.

We can do separate areas if there's a justifiable need for a different tileset between floors, though this option is more expensive.  Otherwise, multiple floors is best handled on the same physical area.
