House placeables

In the house remodeling section you posted that if you download the Haks into your module you'll get the tilesets and what not.  2 Q's bout that.
1.  How do you do that?
2.  Are the placeables such as storage containers and benches included with that.

placeables (please someone correct me if I'm wrong) would be any placeables that you add into your house module:  sounds, tables. statues. lighting effects not built into the tile properties (shafts of light, magic sparks, etc)  basically a placeable is any object you want represented in your house module that is not standard on that tile.  It's something you add to it.

hope that helps

All, or nearly all, of any placeables in player housing should be the ones that you purchase from the furniture vendor in-game.  This is absolutely necessary for storage containers and to be able to rearrange furniture in-game.

Housing remodel requests should actually contain a minimum of additional placeables, and they can never be made usable in-game in any way. They also add to the cost of the remodel and they add up more quickly than those you can buy in-game, and they can't be moved or adjusted in-game like the others.

This forum contains lots of information regarding remodels, but if all you want to know is how to decorate and place furniture and storage, you really want to do it with in-game resources.

OK but how do you know how the boxes and benches and what not will show up.  Say you want it from east-west but it ends up being north-south.

I'm not understanding your question.  You place them down in-game and use an in-game tool to rotate them.

But how do you use the Haks?  I can't get the tilesets.

Open up NWN.  Instead of hitting the button that says "Play" hit the button that says "Toolset"

Then you want to create a new module.  It will ask you what tileset you want to use.  Then it will ask you what size.  You make your adjustments there.

Then, once you open up your module, click on edit and there should be a dropdown menu.  Select Module Properties

This will open up a new window.  Click on the tab that says Custom Content.

There should be a big open window with nothing in it, and below it there is a drop down list.  You select your haks from that list and add them by clicking on the add button once you've selected it.  Make sure you put these in the order that was listed on the previous thread.  They should already be in the correct order on your list, though, so start at the top and add them one at a time from top down.

After you've added in all of the layo haks, you will click ok, and it will tell you that you are about to change your module, yada yada... say ok.  it will asses the module and apply the haks.  it will tell you that everything is fine, and then you'll simply have to reopen the area either by clicking on the "go to starting location" button or by double clicking on the Area001 (should be blue)

then you can start building your module and you should have the options available that are given by the haks.
