My character got pick pocketed today. I was wondering if there might be a script? IC don't care. OOC, I want to make sure it is not a PC.

Were you in Lor? If so, perhaps the guards there are getting lazy.

If it was a PC, you wouldn't have noticed. You just would have lost some coin. That's how pick pocketing works, really... if they are successful, you don't see squat. If you notice, you don't get pick pocketed. ;) Lor has a script that announces you were pick pocketed, I think.

Lor does....but with the extra guards around lately..im not sure.
And Nakaruru has an alibi just in case ;)

Yeah, it's specific to Lor and it can be managed by the actions of a specific PC. It is a scripted thing, so you're not getting pickpocketed by another PC.
It's only scripted to take gold, so there's no danger in losing items.

I've lost gold there several times already and I find it a pleasant surprise, hehe. The amounts are pretty small, usually, so I think it a nice addition to the game.

Makes me wonder if characters are allowed to search/ kill the ones that took their gold ?

Vlad got picked for some gold this morning as well. I agree with Harlas, it added some realism to the game that I hadn't experienced before and it wasn't enough gold for me to really worry about it.

Providing it was successful, and assuming that the proper counter is included :) If they are so good that no one ever spots them trying to pick the pockets, then no amount of soldiers or discipline is going to help. They'll just pick pocket the guards, too. :P

as far as I know, Steel has never been pick-pockted in Lor. He must be winning the checks... or the pick-pocketers decided the scary blue-skinned guy wasn't worth the trouble... ;)

good aligned would search them and turn them over to the authorities , neutral ones could go both ways ( depending on the struggle ) evil ones would go for the kill .
Or am i misinterpeting something ?

If they caught them... If someone pickpockets you successfully, you don't know it happened. :)
