Trouble With Portrait
« on: October 24, 2007, 09:48:51 am »
Well, I recently edited Pyyran's portrait (albeit rather badly), and when I tried tossing it into my NWN, the game protested and started crashing each time I tried to start it up. When I removed the portraits, it decided to behave.

Now, I have two questions/requests.

The first is, does anyone know what the problem here is?

The second is, can anyone edit Pyyran's standard portrait for me? It's in the pack, and called something like po_hu_m_Hagen. What I'm going for is much paler skin, grey eyes instead of blue, grey hair with a streak of white behind the right ear, and a starry night sky instead of the setting sun.

My hack job on the portrait might've looked alright in Medium and Small, but huge would've been ugly. And is.

Here's the link to my hack job. YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement

Have you tried to start a single player game witht hat portrait? Or when does NWN crash?

Right. So, it crashes whenever I try to load the portraits in a new character or character I'm customizing.

It seems to me NWN doesn't have much love for RLE compression in TGAs. Can you try saving the portraits without it?

What'd you use to edit the files in the first place?

Should be an option somewhere. Gimp asks about it upon file saving, no idea about  PhotoSuite... Anyway, think these should work.

Paint Shop Pro 8. I'll go in and fiddle with the file format.

      Edit: Hey! You rock.

Yep it is to do with the compression I've had this problem before, but not all image editors have the option to change/remove it.
