Trying to come back :-)
« on: November 05, 2017, 03:46:14 pm »
Hi all,It has been a long time since I logged on. I just installed a new copy of NWN Diamond (1.69 to deal with windows 7), installed the lastest hakpack. What I don't remember is how to log on so that I can use my character :-) . Help. jrizz

Hello, You need to remember

Hello, You need to remember the Bioware username othat you used ( My guess would be jrizz, maybe? )

Then you have to go to multiplayer, then go to direct connect and introduce the Address of the server :

199.188.117.228

And the password, has not changed as well .

Once you get that,  if your bioware is correct you'll see the vault of your chars.

Cheers and welcome back

Got it all worked out. Back on :-) now I just need to remember how to play. No tough stuff for me for a while. I seem to be stuck in Hilm. The old way out is now blocked. Any hints on how to get back to more populated areas?

Hilm Castle shouldn't be blocked, where in the area are you at? The two transitions back towards Miritrix and to the Great Forest are still used fairly often :)

After getting all that done (Used PC, new copy of nwn, all updates and hakpacks, logging on and remebering how to play) the motherboard in the laptop died LOL. Broken dreams :-P

True story. Spent a good part of today trying every trick in the book to get that machine running. At this point I am convinced it is the motherboard.

Hope you make it back. Flynn

Hope you make it back. Flynn is still kicking about and would love to get him out of that bottle he's been hiding in. Would be interesting to see if you could run this thing on a Pi these days. If you already have the peripherals, only set you back $30 with Ubuntu install. Graphics may be a stretch though *shrugs*

I am not sure it would run on
« Reply #15 on: November 11, 2017, 05:26:38 am »

I am not sure it would run on a Raspi 3. Raspberries use an ARM architecture while NWN runs on x86. So you'd need to emulate x86 on the ARM which will be pretty rough on the Pi.

Other than that, I am always happy to see old players returning and welcome back :) Hopefully welcome back to IG, too!
