Which GM's

Alatriel had a pretty nifty suggestion in this post: http://forums.layonara.com/1679312-post32.html

I was just curious which GM's would be interested in having fully written quests sent to them? ;)

Was thinking more along the lines of quest "ideas"... but you can flesh out those ideas quite a bit before handing them over to a GM and saying "have fun!"

Hehe... I took the liberty to expand on it. ;-)

Well... I guess look at it this way.  If you want to start something, but have the consequences be true to the way the players around you react and become involved that is great.  If a GM is willing to run it as a quest, fantastic.  But if you write up an entire quest, it makes it more difficult for you to be on it and enjoy it because well... you know exactly what's going on.  But if you give them an idea, a GM could make it his or her own, and then even though you were the one that came up with the idea,  you still have no idea how it will turn out.  So it's still exciting.

All those points were well understood by myself... I guess I did not clarify well. If I write up a quest it would not be one I was taking part in, and it would be prudent as a GM to make some changes anyway. A fully written quest would make it much easier, I know... being both a P&P DM and GM on another NWN server.

So essentially, the question for this thread was merely if there is a GM or two that would like to have a couple prepared and submitted. I am still interested in knowing and would welcome a response here or by PM...

I'll take any quest ideas from any one. You are not guaranteed to have it used as is or at all. I just welcome anyone to send them to me.

I'm also still open for suggestions in this thread. http://forums.layonara.com/roleplaying/271902-gm-challenge.html

Hehe...yeah, most GMs don't write the quest fully. In fact, most quests rewrite themselves over the course of them because of player actions. At least from my perspective, quests typically have a defined start and group of possible outcomes, with the middle being this sort of grey cloud of uncertainty.

I doubt there is a GM here who would take a "fully written" quest and use it as-is, but I'm pretty sure all of our GMs are more than willing to take the idea for one and put their own spin on it.

LOL. Well... the term "fully written" is a little deceiving of a term. Essentially I write them out as they should go along with several possible tangents calculated in. Mine never go as planned either, but I have a lot of material to work off of. They are essentially the same as the old D&D Modules if you can remember those. A full quest package. I never had a module that turned out exactly as written either, but the array of materials helped greatly.

The "fully written" module is a classic part of the roleplay experience in all genres.

Like MJ, I'd be interested in "modules" that can be altered to accommodate a story within Layo. :)

I have a basic idea and then everything stems from there. The rest is player actions. And it has turned sour at times where there was a TPK or the quest ended prematurely.

All in all it was good fun.

A common GM style that works well. Milt has a copy of one I threw together the other day. Take a peek at it and if you like I might be able to prep one for you once in a while...
