Unidentified stacks back from crafting
« on: January 30, 2006, 03:21:38 am »
I have seen these with different devices and types:

You place a stack of some resource on the table
You craft, using up part but not all of that stack
What is left is now showing as an unidentified, mislabelled object (my favorite: oak blank scrolls turn into "demi-elves")

This has happend with blank oak scrolls on the bakers oven while making sandpaper, malachite dust on the alchemy table and empty juice bottles in the press. Whatever items were left over in the stack are now unidentified with some weird text (such as demi-elves) if you examine them.

This is something that's known, and while I don't know if there's a good and reliable way to fix it (as there doesn't seem to be a good reason why it should be happening in the first place), the resref of these mis-tagged/unidentified items that are returned is correct, so the items look and act like what they are supposed to...even stacking with items of the same type.
So, it's kind of goofy, but the items will work just fine. I think also that they return to normal (description/identification) if you relog.

Thats a hundred percent true, when I log back in the next time, they are back to normal, and they seem to function perfectly well.
