GCDQ's

Just a question about group CDQs in terms of who can request them.

When a player requests a GCDQ, does it count againts that players ability to request a CDQ for their character? So when you request one, it counts as one of your personal slots even though it may not personaly involve your character? Or is it a case that when a GCDQ is requested, it counts against that factions ability to request further GCDQ (no more that once every two months).

I'm asking this as because I was planning on requesting one soon for a particular faction and Im curious as to whether I can (having done one so recently for my own character) or if I need to ask a fellow player involved to request it?

Hi Spike,

Thanks for the question! It is my understanding that a GCDQ counts as a CDQ for everyone who participates in the GCDQ, because they are all working toward the development for the same objective and can all benefit from it. In a normal (single) CDQ, you can invite other people to help you, but you are the only one who will benefit from a successful result. This is why single CDQs count for only one person.

Because they involve an entire group, GCDQs take a little extra planning. However, the effect of having so many characters working together means that great things can be accomplished on a GCDQ as well, certainly beyond the scope of a normal CDQ.

I hope this helps you figure things out.

Thanks for the quick response Carillon. It does mean though that the plan will have to be postponed for a minimum of 4 months because of Jehoram :( .

Anyone encountering this thread, please see here for rule update/clarification.

In short, a GCDQ shall have a 2 month timer applied to any further GCDQs for that group; it does not matter who requests the GCDQ, it counts as a GCDQ for that group and that specific group may not request another GCDQ for two months. However, individuals participating in the GCDQ may request unrelated, personal CDQs at any time as long as that player has not had a personal CDQ in the last 2 months. The individual CDQ may not be for a goal to further the group, as this is a group CDQ.

Hope that clears things up, and apologies for the earlier misinformation! We have had some misconceptions floating around at multiple levels, clearly.
