question about CDQ
« on: April 13, 2006, 11:51:59 pm »
Well, I'm just new here and don't completely understand the whole deal of this, but is there any certain requirements either the player or character needs before a CDQ?

I want my character Jeremy Steel to go on a quest to get to Pranzis, as it's his dream to get into some kind of army and make his dad proud, although at the moment he is stuck in Hlint, which he isn't happy about whatsoever.

It's probably not a big enough thing for a CDQ, but hey, I'm just asking.

1. The player can only have 1 CDQ per 2 month period.
2. The character must be at least level 10 to have a CDQ.
a. The only exception is a character looking to move into a PrC before level 10.
3. The CDQ must have a valid purpose, and this will be enforced by the GM’s running the quest. Don’t request a CDQ just because you want your own personal quest or a quest for your friends.
a. A CDQ to move into a prestige class is valid.
b. A CDQ needing DM intervention to help a character change realize itself is valid.

A trip from point A to point B is not at all reason enough for a Character Development Quest. You can do that on your own. Ask around. Get some people together. Make the trip. A "go somewhere just to go" thing requires no DM involvement at all.

There is a Pranzis Army Officers Corps that recruits now and again. This might be something to watch for, but I do suggest getting some "training" under your belt first, as it is somewhat picky in terms of who it accepts.
