A proud dwarf who bares the refined look of a fine craftsman and one who has spent many long days and nights in a forge. His armor, shield and axe are adorned with many elegant gems and patterns. All custom made and hand crafted to perfection.

Bio:

Born and raised in the town of Haven. Rurik was the son of a great craftsman and excellent dwarven fighter. Wile growing up Ruriks father taught him all there was to being a great fighter and a fine craftsman as to the ways of the Master Crafter. Good enough was never good enough. Not for Ruriks father nor for Rurik himself.

Wile Rurik and his father mined and forged various items, Ruriks mother tended to the shop. Making deals, taking commissions. Rurik even learned a bit of these himself from his mother. At times Rurik was even put in charge of the store wile his parents went out of town.

One day how ever, when Ruriks parents left him in charge of the store an elegantly dressed elf walked in. This elf wore cloths and jewels of great beauty and no dought was in search of something of equal quality. The elf walked up to Rurik and requested a suit of armor both strong and elegant. The elf gave Rurik a small payment in advance then left.

Shortly after, Rurik closed the shop and went out to mine the resources needed to fulfill the elf's order. Rurik knew the ore needed was abundant on one place closest to town. The Haven Mines. His father always warned him not to go for the place was haunted, but Rurik was determined. The mines held best and purest ore, anything less would never be good enough. So Rurik marched into the mines at night, knowing the ogres would be asleep by then. Rurik crept deep into the mines and began digging up as much ore as he could carry. When ever he felt tired and wanted to take a break, Rurik always felt an airy presence watching. This kept Rurik up and on his toes as he mined the ore then brought it to his forge.

Back at the forge Rurik began work on the armor. There were many attempts yet none came out right. The elf wanted the armor to be both strong and elegant. Many weeks and months have passed as Rurik struggled to get the patters right. Praying to Dorand as he forged. Yet every suit made held a lack of elegance. There quality was great but there elegance was not. Good enough was never good enough.

One day however, the elf came to Ruriks forge and suggested Rurik try something a little different. The elf taught Rurik a lot about Ilsare. Though the two deities were at odds with each other Rurik gave it a try, he began praying to both Doran and Ilsare as he worked. About a few months later the armor was finished. Its quality was superb and the artistry and elegance of the armor were equally so. When Rurik presented the armor the elf was amazed and gave Rurik the rest of the payment and then some.

Finding that with the combined worship of the Master Crafter and the Lady Muse helped Rurik create something both strong and elegant gave him the inspiration to continue doing so and perhaps on day, forge something that may bring the two together.
