"crazy irish mans shield"

Reading the post on spikes on shields made me think of braveheart, as far as i remeber the crazy irish guy has a shild with long "spikes" on it, and he uses it as a weapon, hitting his enemies with it. I just thought such a shield would be cool here as well. I am thinking in lines of:

weapon smithing:
small shield
spikes/blades

"crazy irish mans shield"
small or medium weapon
1d6 or 1d4
1 AC

Just a thought, don't know if it is possible or not or whether it is balanced or not.

*sighs* why am I the only one who likes my crazy ideas....

The idea is possible as far as I can tell. and given it some thought i have arrived at this:

"crazy irish mans shield"
exotic weapon
medium sized
1d6 bashing piercing 20 crit
1 ac deflection modifier
requires shield proficiency feat

Using deflection AC will ensure that there will be no benifit from having one in each hand, and the low damage will ensure that nobody would want to use it in their main hand. I am seing this as a style weapon more than anything but still you would have to be able to use a quite special weapon hence the exotic part.

Spiked Small Shield, 1d4/x2, Piercing and bludgeoning, +1 AC Shield Modifier.

Spikes Large Shield, 1d6/x2, Piercing and bludgeoning, +2 AC Shield Modifier.

Shield proficiency, in PnP, allows for shield bashes.
