Aziza's Diary

I have spent the last few days exploring around this new land that I have ended up in.  For the most part, the people here do not mind my presence, except in larger settlements.  I dare not go near Port Hempstead, since I fear my previous captors may be around there.  I have met several interesting people, even though they are short and not as hairy as I am, they seem to be congenial.  Unfortunately,  one offered me something in a container that tasted totally foul and made my senses reel.  I threw up shortly after that.  For the most part, I have noticed the people who wear metal skins are usually the most tolerant, maybe because they have been around more strange things.  I am still getting used to everything needed to fashion things I find in the wilderness into useable tools in settlements.  I have been to a place where I can trade pieces of metal  for equipment, but am not sure why.  Maybe someone can explain it to me.  The worse part is only the four legged animals seem to understand me completely.

I've met several interesting people in this new land.  I just wish I understood their language.  Don't get me wrong, they don't understand my language either... I have been threatened with sharp implements of war, when all I could do is "growl" in greeting.  I have found out that having an attitude of surrendering seems to placate the citizens of these lands.

Oh, how I miss the wild grasslands of Veapra.  The hunt was exquisite.  Wild creatures to feed me and their skins to clothe me, even though, to be honest, I prefer to be unclad.  Nature has given me multiple ways of defending myself, and now recently I have learned to take the form of other natural creatures.  Unfortunately, I am no longer in my homeland.  I have found creatures of similiar focus on nature, but as of yet cannot understand them, nor they me.  I am truly a stranger in a strange land.  The locals whom I have met seem a little agitated around me, but soon grow used to the novelty of a wemic around them, proviced I do not try to harm them.

I am not alone, I have met a fellow traveler from my homeland... her name was Aka'ashi.. She took me to new places that I have never seen before... and I saw creatures that I would have never imagined.  Nature is so diverse and wonderful.  I am learning more of nature's way and enjoying it more and more.  I can now take the form of an animal more than before.. it is such a rush to be in another skin.

Even as a fierce creature, I am not comfortable in my own skin.  I prefer to use the abilities present in other forms more than I do my own.  I appreciate the diversity of different forms, even more than I use nature's power.  This is just another aspect of being natural.... less need for forged or man-made items... Maybe it is just the natural progression in my existence to become a shifter of forms.

Note to DM's: Yes, I would like to arrange a CDQ to continue on with my the shifter prestige class. Please inform me on how this is done.
