Dearest Mother,
This is the first time I have encountered a system to deliver a letter to you. I found it in Hlint a short time ago and I hope I have paid enough to have it make its way to you, so far north.
It has been many years since you have seen me last and I feel you have thought I had passed beyond the glaciers light. I regret that, but it is the only thing I regret. What I have found and who I have met in this land created a new life for me beyond struggling against my own land, my own people.
I will write again soon, I must keep this short until I know the odds are good it will be recieved by you.
