Evelyn Dawnbreaker -- Accounts of a Hopeful Hero
    « on: September 21, 2017, 12:11:07 pm »
*Evelyn opens the small leather bound book and smooths out the first page. She contemplates for a moment and begins writing.*My first days away from Michael and Belaruth have been eventful to say the least. I feel like I'm on my way to being a hero! I've met so many wonderful new people and done some truly amazing things! I don't want to forget any of it so I figured I should write things down, make my own fairy tale. Not long after I was left in Center, I met Garadel. He favours a greatsword like me! He was lovely and he and his companion, Torvald helped me do some quests around the town. I'm very glad I got to know them, especially Garadel and I'm ecstatic I've gotten to use my sword against real foes. Garadel also took me to Hlint to clear away some lizardfolk that were terrorizing the city. On the way, we passed through Fort Llast and I said a quick prayer outside the temple. It was good to be near home again even though there isn't really anything left. Garadel then introduced me to one of his friends, an elf I think, named Tharivian. He was very quiet but also wonderful. He used a longsword and was an incredible fighter. I wonder if he won't give me some advice on how to improve my own technique. Anyways, Tharivian took me to meet some of his companions, a rogue named Stev and a Dwarven mage whose name has slipped my mind. They all were incredibly talented and I felt so lucky to be able to accompany them. We traveled into the Forest of the Fog and fought back giants. They were truly incredible! It was my first time seeing such creatures and it was amazing! Not to mention watching such amazing warriors in battle! If only I had skill like that! In truth though, I think the experience has improved my own fortitude. I can't wait to go out again, keep practicing, and perhaps learn some things from Garadel and Tharivian. I am so pleased to finally have had the chance to properly weild my blade and I'm so excited for the next opportuity. I am also learing to forge weapons! Perhaps in the future I can make my own sword! It would be incredible to fight with a weapon of my own design! For now though I will continue to work with what I have and keep improving myself and hopefully the world!*Evelyn closes the journal, thinks for a moment and reopens it excitedly.*I almost forgot! Garadel gave me a rose! He is so lovely. I like him very much. *She closes the book once again and smiles.*

*Evelyn sits at a table in the Bull's Eye Inn. She opens her journal and starts writing.*

I recently met even more new people! Garadel and I became aquainted with  an elevn monk, Maralak his name was. He had just recently come from the monestary and I helped him do some quests nearby to Center. He is quiet and a bit brash, but he seems to be a good man. I like him. Garadel also gave me his old armour! It feels so good to be properly defended! He asked me to gather some greenstone for him in return which should make for a good adventure!

Outside of Hlint Maralak and I met a man named Oly. He had a beautiful greatsword and he was so very nice. We talked for nearly an hour and he offered me his old sword! It is a lovely blade! Such fine craftsmanship and very well balenced! I am so excited to have such a fine weapon! I can't wait to try it out on my next quest! I'm not sure what I'll name it... Réalta perhaps? Or Gaoithe? I don't know... I'll think of something! I am just incredibly happy to be in possession of such a blade. I will be sure to take care of it.

Oly and I then came to the Bull's Eye Inn for a drink and to discuss swordsmanship. He gave me some advice on how to be a successful adventurer. He also told me about his own travels and his time serving as caretaker to an elderly mage. He was a very fine person and I very much hope to meet him again. Not to mention I will be eternally grateful he has given me this sword.

Until the next time, I will hopefully continue to improve and perhaps figure a name for my new blade!

      *She closes the book.*
