~~Novlar 11, 1571~~After a long journey I've finally arrived in Center, while it is early in the morning I feel I was a bit too eager to get here. After selling my armor and weaponry I was able to make the trip from Bilkan back to Hiso and then begin my journey for strength. My journey to Center was rather uneventful, no sign of any threats so that's a good sign. I do miss having a sword on my belt and armor but I will have to make due for now. Of course I made a contribution of 100 gold pieces to a local shrine of Prunila out of habit, perhaps the goddess will smile on my donation and grant the agriculture in the area a small blessing. While I do doubt this will do much I'm sure Lady Ilsare will smile down on me for it anyway. It was still rather dark when I arrived and now the suns up and the area's mostly illuminated by its warmth and I hope the merchants have set up or at least are able to help me find some pieces of gear to start my training with. The Sundial says 9 now, so perhaps I should get ready to see if theres any errands need doing and if there's some weapons and armor in stock.

A few hours have passed and I've managed to gather some gear, while not the sort of armor I was hoping for it will have to do for now. A bit of path following and I came across some Blue Crabs, they were pretty territorial and didn't hesitate to try and nip me. The chance at some crab meat was too tempting so I took up their challenge and sadly they didn't have any meat in them, perhaps something has been eating their food. I saw a small out of sight camp as well, small and populated. I avoided it mainly because of  the fact they were armed and seemed rather shady. Maybe someone knows about them and can tell me who they are.

I found some sources of Gum Arabic, perhaps I'll be able to sell it to someone or perhaps someone will need it in the near future. But for now I'm going to sleep off the trip here and the crab hunting. I'll probably talk to the Magician tomorrow to see about studying some magic but I feel as if he probably won't without me proving I'm worth his time.

It's been an interesting time in Center, I've met a few people and one of them knows the arcane arts...perhaps she'd be willing to help me learn some but she may not wish to do so. I will ask one day but I need to improve my combat skills first and so far that has been a bit slow but progress has been made. In my time in Center I've fought Crabs, deer, orcs, undead, birds, rogue mercs, kobolds and even a gnoll. Hiso seems like a long way away and Ilsare must be smiling at me because I've yet to come to any serious harm in my time here. I've started taking an interest in smithing but without Copper I can't make Bronze and I've yet to find an anvil to smith weaponry and armor on. But I hope things will improve still and the tasks I've taken up have made me realize that some people are in a constant loop, the same problems happen to them and it's up to adventurer's like me to help them out. I'd rather be part of that cycle than see people go without the things they need.

The craft hall owner needed a bug problem handled and I brought her a piece of the insect queens carcass, the healer needed garlic and aloe and I have deliverd such however I need to find some birch bark for her. I found a lamp in the catacombs and returned it to the underkeeper just as he asked me to go find it..a stroke of luck for him it seems. I'm going to investigate the bandit camp...at least I think they're bandits...I will visit none the less adn see if they either need help or see if they need to be dealt with. It's rather sad to see bandits killed so freely..surely they can be redeemed somehow?

Perhaps there's a bounty on one...and I can finally get a better blade.

So those bandits I had seen turned out to be pirates, they weren't really good at it as I defended myself with few scratches, afterwards I decided it was time to make my way to port Hempstead, I promised the guard captain that I would clear the Kobold out and I had yet to deliver on that promise. The kobolds were...odd, their ranged troops used spells, not many actually caused an effect on me but the annoyance was there that even kobolds had gained a grasp on magical arts while I still can't even cast a simple light spell. It doesn't bother me so much now as the task master was killed and I delivered the stick to the captain. I can't help but feel I am going to be stuck swinging a blade for the rest of my life.

I have though still, it just shows that if lizards can learn magic, so can I. I don't know what I'm going to do in Hempstead, perhaps I'll move on to somewhere else and look out for ores while I'm at it.

A couple of days in Hempstead has lead me to believe that there's a mine nearby, I'll have to ask around about it later but even then it might not have the ores that I'm after. I've taken up fishing to pass the times, the carp are somewhat plentiful and look delicious and the bait is in plentiful supply. The pond right outside the Hempstead gates might become a regular place of relaxation for me in the future. After a quick raid on the Kobolds I had decided to let my wounds heal a bit and as I was relaxing an injured farmer started to rant and rave about the same Kobolds, I agreed to do what I can to help him and so I weant to see if I could thin their numbers further.

It's rather sad to see these creatures cut down so easily, I'm sure if I knew how to speak Kobold I could possibly do what I can to maybe arrange some sort of peace meeting both Hempstead and the Kobolds could be happy with. Then again tehy are beasts and sometimes beasts just attack. But perhaps something is disturbing them, like perhaps there is something stealing their land or there's a beast lurking.
