    Class(es): Fighter
    Race: Dwarf
    Subrace:  N/A
    Alignment: NG
    Deity: Aeridin
    2 Domains (if cleric):  N/A
    Bio/Description:

Tolinar was found among the wreckage of a ship on the shores of Voltrex near the city of Nimesin.  He was found by the town’s blacksmith Delstat Loweryden and his wife Vanarra.  The ship was a total loss and no other survivors or bodies were found.  The only identifying item on Tolinar was a large dwarven bracelet he was wearing as a belt for his diaper.  After some research, Delstat learned dwarven letters on the bracelet read “Tolinar”, and gave the name to his newfound son.

Delstat and Vanarra had no other children as Delstat had been injured in a smelting accident and left unable to produce offspring.  While some members of the community were more supportive of the adoption than others, they never wavered in their love for their newfound son.

Raised among elves, Tolinar spent the majority of his youth learning his adoptive father’s trade of blacksmithing.  He found himself drawn to metalwork, and at age 8 (with some help from his father) fashioned his first longsword.  Around 15 Tolinar found himself yearning to go to the Northern Peaks of Voltrex.  His parents had tried to teach him about his Dwarven heritage, but books and talk are no substitute for experience.  He soon began making expeditions into the forest toward the mountains.  These expeditions taught him many fighting and survival skills.  The day after his 18th birthday he left for the mountains with little expectation of returning.  He spent 3 years digging, exploring, and learning about the mountain.

But something still felt missing.  He left the home he had carved out of the mountain side and returned to Nimesin to see his parents.  Upon his arrival he found his father had died of unknown causes a year ago, in his sleep.  The blacksmith shop had been closed since then, and Vanarra had been making ends meet by selling off what items Delstat had finished before he passed.

Taken aback by his father’s death, Tolinar swore to restore his father’s smithy and to provide for his mother.  He ran the blacksmith shop for 5 years before it finally went out of business.  The end of the shop was through no fault of his own, as a new blacksmith had moved into town to capitalize on the lack of a ‘professional’ smith.  Tolinar had made decent equipment, but in truth the only thing he could make of high quality were his longswords.  And longswords alone do not make a blacksmith.

With the closing of the shop, Tolinar now needed a new source of income to provide for his mother.  Finding few choices, he signed up for the local militia of Nimesin.  He stayed with the militia, never rising in rank (some say due to prejudice) but becoming one of their most skilled warriors in close-quarters combat.  He favored the longsword, but was proficient with any weapon put in his hands.

Finally tired of being among the best warriors in the militia but still the lower in rank to some raw recruits, Tolinar decided it was time to leave Nimesin.  He sold all his possessions, save his weapons & armor.  After giving the money to his mother he set out on his journey.
