I was beaten today. Not in practice, not in excercises, but in real-life combat. By a goblin. It shames me to even be writing this, but perhaps I can look book at this and improve on my technique based on what I learned from that fight. It was different than my training though. The hair on the back of my neck raised, the adrenaline rushed, and my body broke into a sweat. My very mortality came into question and was answered by a sharp blade in my gut. I layed there, bleeding, wondering what I did wrong...then darkness... then a healing light. The people here seem oddly helpful. A mage who's name I did not know blessed me with a light, and closed my wounds.
I thanked him, and went back to figuring out what I did wrong...
