Title: CDQs for PrCs
Post by: Vellyn on September 21, 2005, 10:57:00 am
I know that a lot of people are signing up for CDQs but the calander is only showing about 5 CDQs a month.

Are a lot of the CDQs being run outside of the calander date?

The reason why i'm curious has to do with me obtaining a PrC. I am wanting to go to Undead Slayer from Cleric of Aeridin. I am sure there are others out there wanting to obtain PrCs as well, but I do not understand this system since it is gonna take me three months of waiting in order to get the PrC in the first place ... based on the calander as I have no other way of grasping the CDQs.

I'm also curious as to why a Druid can go straight into shifter and a Follower of Aeridin (Priest or Paladin) could not go straight into Undead Slayer given that it is listed as Aeridin's primary objective? The Player's handbook says that it requires a small quest to bring the light of Aeridin into the darkness. Thus far I have gone into a few different crypts and many many adventures into the Direwoods and Broken forest as these places insure me that I can adventure without fearing 'taking life' from the living.

Anyway, I'm really curious as to these answers because I do not always grasp the Layonara experience until someone tells me :)

Not all CDQ's are made 'pubic' on the calendar and are by invitation only so you will not see all of them.  I see 10-12 on the calendar when I look at it, though I did not take the time to see how many actually people it is being run for...
PrC's require a CDQ because they are not a part of the 'base classes' in D&D--they are addons/alterations (whatever you may want to call it) and I believe they need further development to move in those directions.

I pretty much figured the CDQs were being run behind the calander gauge and did notice there were a few CDQs this month ... my look was too next month since this one is 2/3 over. Thanks for thwe info :). As for the D&D base stuff you talked about ... I haven't played D&D in about 10 years, so I know nothing about how the system works except for in NWN ... I'm a Rolemaster fanatic myself ;)
