Environment Based XP

I have always thought that areas like no magic or wild magic present a higher challenge for a given CR than "normal" areas.  Would it be feasible to provide a bump to kill xp in those areas?  In other words, if you kill a CR 17 Large Snake in a no magic area it would give XP as if it were maybe CR 20.  This would reflect the added challenge of facing creatures without mind blank, mage armor, haste, etc.

I realize this probably isn't a realistic thing to include in V3, but thought it might be worthy of consideration in the new game.

Actually, IMO the dead magic zones are tremendously easier than the magic zones. The problem is you just have to be a high level fighter or barbarian with the right build to roll the dead magic zones.

If anything the dead magic zones need to have an xp penality.

Definitely isn't going to happen in V3. Besides being a fairly big task, when you say area X is easier, the question is always "for whom".  Some builds and some classes will have an easy time with some areas, harder times with others.

As for the new game...I can't answer that question without answering others that we're not quite answering at the moment :)

Well actually its nice to have a few areas where high level fighters and barbarians can actually demonstrate their superiority. Unlike every other place on the server that clerics or mages can dominate through spell use. :)

Oh and on a side note I feel the xp given in dead magic areas currently does not need to be altered.

Actually in this case I am referring to my low/mid level fighter.  He can go lots of places with his party with cleric and mage.  Haste and heal go a long way, nep to stop crippling strike, and mind blank to stop the gaze.  In the rift, if 2 giants tee off on a mid level character, they can do a couple hundred points of damage and kill him in one round.  the rule of thumb I am working on for the rift is that if everyone is getting xp for the dire spiders, the party will die.  Seems like a balanced mid level party that isn't an army should be able to take the place.
