The below areas are ones I've noticed are not tagged as outdoors for the ranger trackless step class feature.
- lake palden
- Blackford castle west outskirts
- blackford castle south outskirts
- Fort Llast (debatable whether its "wilderness" enough or not, probably not now that I think about it. I was just running outside the acctual fort area when I was taking these notes.)
- Road to fort llast
Another question I had about this is the issue of natural caves. My ranger has spent a significant amount of time in the "natural cave" ecosystem (this would include the underdark.) I'm betting that natural caves aren't tagged for this ability but was wondering if they should be. The problem is that the ranger is such a diverse class that its hard to do this in a way that would make the most sense for the most people.
At the risk of superfluous ramblings, I wish this ability was handled more like favored enemies are. Favored environment or something. Pick two at first level and get another every four levels. Having categories like: Urban, mountains, hills, plains, forest, desert, swamps, underground, coastal, aquatic, tundra, jungle/tropical etc. A bit like the horizon walker I suppose. Doing this in NWN however would either be a huge task or impossible as a new tag would have to be created for all areas with the type descriptor and ALL areas would need to be retagged... also a base class would have to be modified.. which is a pain. Basically just wanted to share this while I was posting about a similar topic because I thought it was a cool idea. not really fesible.
