Arrows with wrong Level Req
« on: October 06, 2009, 08:50:30 am »
Description: My Character Snezle Lempkin has  Arrow, Copper tipped Oak Stirge Tail. The lens says that they are level 10 Req but he is only level 8 and can use them. The only thing I can see is his 10 ranks of UMD allow him to use it. I do not think that is it because he has other arrows that are level 10 req, worth slightly more but with in the 20,000 price range for rank 10 UMD.

Location: World of Layonara

Verified:

Reproducable: Yes he has 300 of them, all the same.

Caerwyn ran into the same type of thing when the stacking limits for arrows changed. I don't think it's a UMD thing but more that the lens calculates level req'ments based on value of the stack as a whole.

Try dividing the stack down and checking w/ the lens on a smaller stack.

this is an issue with the way that NWN determines level requirements, the pricing lens takes the price of the stack of arrows, and calculates what the level requirement is based on that price

the game engine determines the level requirement based on the price of a standard nwn sized stack (99 arrows) and uses that price to determine the actual level requirement

thus to accurately price determine the level req for ammo, drop it into a stack of 99 and then use the lens on them

for the record UMD does not allow you to forgo level req's, just class, race, and alignment reqs

Yes you are correct. I did another check with 99 arrows and they are level 7 Req. You can delete this post as it is not bug
