Weapon proficiencies

In the update... my character lost the ability to use equipment like Tailor's Needle, Skinning Knife, and Gem Crafter Chisel -- they all require Simple, Druid, Rogue, Monk, or Wizard weapon feats.  I assume there's a bug where fighter types no longer have "Simple".

Edit: Add daggers to the list.

Sorry.. typing fast, forgot details.  This would be Zug, a fighter/barbarian.  I'm guessing for some reason either those classes don't recognize "Simple" as a known weapon proficiency anymore, or maybe it's just something with dagger-type items.

I rested and still couldn't use any of the listed items.  Three of them had been in the quickbar, and anytime I changed location, I would get three error messages about "You can't use that item" and those quickbar slots would be blank.  It appears that the quickbar settings remembered what I had, but wouldn't place them in the quickbar since it didn't think Zug could use them.

Actually what I think may be going on here is a size issue. This has been reported by another half-giant character, so I'm thinking these dagger-based items (and daggers of course) may now be too small for a half-giant to equip.
  Bear with us while we address this.

 Will do.  I appreciate the effort the dev team puts in.  The size issue makes sense now that you mention it, especially in the absence of 50 people posting the same bug report.  :)

This seems to be a case of Bioware "fixing" a problem by avoiding it altogether. Unfortunately the "fix" seems to be hard-coded in the engine.
  However, I'm cooking up a work-around for the crafting tools issue. Daggers won't be usable, but we'll have Half-Giant/Half-Ogre versions of those small crafting tools.

Large size PCs (Half-giant/Half-ogre/Wemic) will have a new set of larger-sized tools for their big meaty hands. See your friendly neighborhood craft vendor for details.  
  Fixed in next update.

Thanks!  I always did wonder how Zug was able to hold a tailor's needle anyway...  :)
