These are buggered somehow I think.  Two Crawling Assassin Vines were dealing ~100 dmg to Talan a round.  I almost got killed several times.  Ice implied that they were not intended to be doing that much damage when I commented that their CR didn't reflect their difficulty.  The amount of damage these things are dishing out per round is ludicrous.  They'd kill PCs in their intended CR range in just a few hits.

hmm, on further inspection, I think Evards is fjorked (perhaps by 1.67.)

"For every round that a creature is caught within the area of effect, it suffers attacks from 1d4 tentacles, each capable of doing 1d6+4 points bludgeoning damage."

The maximized damage from Evard's in a single round is 40.  There is a 73 in the below logs, and I don't think that was even the highest.  Even an empowered on a good roll couldn't get that high.  So yeah, something to look into.

these are definately not working as I intended. I will get them fixed up asap.

Don't remember where I saw it but iut was supposed to be much improved in 1.67.  Looks like a little too improved.

I just read that discussion.... sooo broken.

The gnome wizard build for tossing EBTs around and running through them (small and tiny creatures are immune) because he's immune is pretty hilarious.

Suggestions:

  Apply the damage for each tentacle seperately rather than in one lump sum.
  Make it respect SR and spell mantles

 Make the current spell script a 9th level spell and call it "Evard's Bloody Tentacles of Mass Destruction"

Oooooh....

So the vines in space intentionally left blank to arouse curiosity are borked!  *breathes a sigh of relief*

I was worried when I saw the piles of gravestones and high level folks getting clobbered.

Yep, this is something we're looking at. so do exercise extra caution in that place.
  If it makes anyone feel any better, my character got his backside handed to him in about 2 rounds fully buffed and stoneskinned and everyting. Round 1: Full health, Round 2: dirt nap. I think I was stuck in like 2-3 of those things too.

I've updated the script to apply damage on a per-tentacle basis. This allows DR to function properly and won't be immediately fatal to 99% of the medium-sized and larger population of Layonara.
  Fixed in next update.

I was just looking to see if anyone Had posted about evard's.They are so Broken right now.
I cast it ,ran through it by accident and took 104 damage.

Thank you for the quick action on addressing this.  I would like to add that I do not believe that the cloak awarded from Johan in Hlint (reduced bludgeoning damage) is mitigating damage from the tentacle's attack.

The spell description "each capable of doing 1d6+4 points bludgeoning damage" with the cloak's protection included would reduce this to 0-5 damage per tentacle hit. I would go try and get some concrete data on this, but two deaths so far makes me more than a little hesitant.

Actually it probably is.  
  If you go back and look at your combat log/window, you should see it's absorbing damage. However, while I made the spell less vicious, it still deals the same amount of damage overall.  Furthermore, with each instance of that spell effect (and sometimes there are more than one active at a time) the character stuck in that mess can get hit with up to 19 or so vines, each doing 1d6+4 bludgeoning damage.  Add to that the chance of getting paralyzed and yes, the spell is still quite nasty.
  It's meant to be deadly, just not instantly so.
  Remeber also that the vines themselves have attacks of their own that cause physical damage beyond that of the tentacles.
