That's probably because CNR rocks tend to switch to "plot" when struck by anything that's not a mining pick or when picks break to prevent exploits. The plot flag only stays set for a few seconds, but as a result sometimes this leads to funny things like that. It's "normal" and more problematic to address cleanly than it is to just accept it as is.
