too many spells upon leveling

Tha'Azail leveled to a level 3 undead slayer on Saturday.  Before leveling Tha' was level 7 cleric and level 2 undead slayer.  If I understand everything correctly after leveling to level 3 undead slayer Tha' should have had spells available per day equal to a level 8 cleric.  However, now Tha'  has access to level 5 clerical spells.  Again if I understand everything those should not be available until his spells per day equal a 9th level cleric.  I will not use any 5th level spells until I hear differently.

Perhaps you have a high wisdom bonus?

I think he means he can cast 5th level cleric spells, You always get these at your 9th cleric level(it does not depend upon you wisdom) Perhaps 3 Undead slayer levels are counting as 2 cleric levels?

with pale master, the only PrC that increases caster level for spells per day that i have any experience with, you get more spells every two levels, but it starts at level one.  So, more spells at 1, 3, 5 etc., not 2, 4, 6.

... Just read the undead slayer description which says you get more spells at 3, 6 and 9.  *shrugs* maybe its 1, 3, 6, and 9?  or it could acctually be a bug.

Talan,  I think it might be the case, that I got a caster level at Undead Slayer lvl one and just did not notice because it was just a few  additional spells at that point.

You may not have the spell slot for the level 5 Spells, but your bonus spells from the PrC and your Wisdom Modifier (Which I'll assume is high enough for a bonus level 5 spell) allows this to happen. It's not a bug. It's a bonus!

8bit, a bonus wisdom will never get you a spell slot at a level where you would otherwise have none in any class other than ranger or paladin.

It seems that I did not notice the spells per day increase at level one undead slayer, and so was surprised when level 3 undead slayer garnered me level 5 cleric spells.  (which would be next on the spells per day progression if I received the spell per day increase at level 1 undead slayer) Since that seems to be what happened, and I have not heard differently I have decided to use level 5 spells.  Please let me know if anyone on the GM team has issues with this.
